■ Listed in the National Register of Historic Places
■ The Casa Grande was constructed between 1850 and 1854 byFrancis Myers under the direction of Henry Wager Halleck. Thebuilding was originally planned as a one-story brick structure to beused as a hotel for the New Almaden mining community. Halleckhad the structure enlarged to a two to three story residence for themine manager. The building served as the mine manager’sresidence until 1926.

Project Scope
■ Restore the exterior including roofs, walls, windows, doors, and veranda.
■ Restore interior walls, floors, and
decorative architectural elements.
■ Upgrade plumbing, electrical, heating,
ventilation and air conditioning, and fire protection systems.
