PAST | PRESENT | FUTUREIn 1972, in the garage of our suburban Chicago home, my father, Richard [Dick] Carr, made the decision to start the business that would become our family legacy. Armed with just one Bridgeport milling machine, lathe and grinder, he embarked on something we all hold dear to this day.

My father’s vision of entrepreneurship grew from early years as a journeyman machinist at Kraft Foods, Inc. Through quality mentorship at Kraft, he developed a natural mechanical aptitude and a relentless drive. These qualities would bring him early success with the launch of CARR Machine & Tool, Inc. Within just three years the business grew twice into a larger space. In 1979 we oversaw the design and construction of our facility in the Elk Grove Village Business Park, adjacent to O’Hare International Airport. We came of age in this location and are still here today.

I dedicated my career to learning all aspects of running a manufacturing firm, and in 2004 became President and sole shareholder of CARR. Since that time I have focused my effort toward the adoption of technologies that will drive us forward.

We pride ourselves on the long-term relationships we develop with our clients. We keep communication channels clear to ensure consistency. Our ultimate focus is to provide extraordinary service and quality production to you and your project.
