Close Protection Operator with the British Embassy (South) contract providing armed security and communications for the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) clients enabling them to control, assess and monitor all going FCO projects throughout Helmand Province.
Responsibilities include daily dissemination of up to date intelligence, route planning, client safety briefings, standing in as Team Leader/Lead IBG (Nad e Ali) and safe execution of the tasks.
Quick reaction force as part of our communications stability team. Planning feeder, antenna and dish upgrades often under pressure when our towers have been damaged due to enemy action or sabotage.
Acted as the first point of contact in the communications centre to establish the stability, connectivity and testing of links UK bound.
Part of the personal communication network installations team, working on decommissioning and upgrades to continuously enhance our network.

Team Leader of the Special Forces/16 Air Assault Brigade liaison team providing security for a four
man detachment whilst receiving, analysing and disseminating vital information between the two
agencies.
In charge of our network of microwave VHF/UHF/HF radio rebroadcast vehicles and antennas.
Deployed on Op Telic initially as the TL of the 1 Royal Irish Rear Link Team before moving on to
become the Brigade Commanders TAC as his communications operator whilst assisting the Brigade
Commanders CP team for telecommunications security.
Deployed to Helmand Province as a TL in charge of a 12 man team carrying out the primary tasks of
communications and security in unison with the Danish Light Recce Team.
Installed and maintained sensitive HF, VHF and UHF radio systems.
Instructed Territorial Army Engineers on the set up, repair and maintenance of digital mobile communications
network.
