HELPING MORE HURTING PEOPLE THIS SUMMERDear Friend,Can you believe that it’s summer? Already this year, we have seen over 400 formerly homeless men and women complete our programs, find employment, and move into the community. Our Centers are filled and we are preparing for the hot and rainy summer months. Thousands of hurting people will be helped. Not only will we be taking care of adults, but we are also providing special summer activities for boys and girls. In Miami we have a summer camp for nearly 150 “at-risk” youth. Your continued support makes this all possible.

I want you to know how much you mean to the homeless when you volunteer, donate items to our thrift stores, and give financially. Lives are being touched and transformed each day. Over 1,300 men, women, and children are served in our Miami-Dade and Broward County Centers. Each person who comes for help is treated with deep respect and are seen as unique individuals. Miracles happen every day.

Please send your gift today to help us help so many others during the hot summer months. Your support is critical in helping people and changing lives.

All God’s Best this summer and beyond,

RISE - Reach, Inspire, Succeed, Elevate - is a group of young adults who want to impact the lives of homeless and needy children. Help them reach their goal to send 150 needy boys and girls to a very special summer camp. Your gift will provide more than just a place for kids to play - it will provide a Summer full of arts, music, outings and activities. Camp is from June 20th to August 5th. $60 provides one week of camp for one needy boy or girl. Visit caringplace.org/rise to help a child today.

We Love Our Volunteers and Supporters

Publix Supermarkets is a long-time partner and provides food items, financial support, and volunteer days. We are so grateful for their enthusi-asm and years of helping the homeless and needy. They demonstrate their commitment to our communities every day.

Keller Williams provided a day of service at our Centers. They have done so many drives (toy, cloth-ing, hygiene, etc) for the men, women, and children we serve. They are having a special fund raising gala to benefit The Cover Girls (see below) of the Broward Centers this fall. Get more info on our website.

Over 150 staff members of Jack Link’s, known for its protein snacks, came from around the country to meet in Miami and volunteer at our Miami Center. Troy, president of Jack Link’s, and wife Lorissa not only served in the kitchen, but they also gave a check for $10,000 dollars. The Jack Link’s team served all over the Center and had a great time. We so appreciate the giving of their time, talent, and treasure.

Find out how you can volunteer and help change lives. Go to caringplace.org

Cover Girls held a “Spring into a New Bloom” luncheon to raise funding, friends, and awareness of women and children in our Centers who need to have some-one COVER them. There are groups for Miami and Broward. You can be a mentor and help change lives. For more info - visit our website: ww.caringplace.org.

Terrence was at the end of his world. His addiction to crack cocaine had robbed him

of everything — his family, friends, and his self-respect. In High School, Terrence excelled in football and was hoping to get a scholarship at a prestigious college. In his senior year, he had a horrific injury that shattered his knee as well

as his college dreams. He was devastated.

Terrence tried to shake it off and enrolled in a local college, but just couldn’t get over the loss

of his football career. He started drinking and that progressed to drug usage. He battled drugs and alcohol for many years and just didn’t want to continue his life. He was living on the streets and visited the Center for food and clothing.

Last year, he happened to come for a meal during the Bombastic Birthday Party (see below) that is held once a year for the homeless and needy. Of all things, this particular day was his birthday. Terrence believes that God spoke to him that day. He started to believe that there was a purpose for his life and realized that people cared about him. Terrence entered the residential program that day and has since found employment and housing. He is also enrolled in school to become an EMT.

“I’m so appreciative of all that was given to me during the program. I came in one day for a meal, had my birthday celebrated and then started my new life. I really want to thank everyone for giving. You really have helped me.”

Terrence i s Grateful

With the help of countless volunteers, donors and sup-porters, our centers held the annual Bombastic Birthday Party for over 1,000 homeless and needy individuals. This year’s celebration was on June 7th, where guests were treated to a wonderful meal, live entertainment, birthday cake, and presents. It was a huge party.
