July Special Offering
On Sunday, July 20 at all three worship services we will collect a spe-cial offering to support our Annual NNEMAP Backpack Project. NNE-MAP will serve over 400 school age children to help them get off to a great start this school year with backpacks and school supplies. Please make checks payable to KING AVENUE UMC and indicate NNEMAP in the memo line. You will also have the fun opportunity to back-to-school shop, as we will renew last year’s goal of collecting 200 School Supply Stocked Backpacks. Summer Choir 2014 Calling all singers! You’re invited to join us for the Summer Choir, which provides musical leadership during the Chancel Choir’s summer hiatus. Meet for a brief rehearsal on Sunday mornings at 10:15 AM in the Choir Room. Summer Choir will sing July 13, July 20, August 3, August 10, August 17 and August 24.

Youth Wacky Wednesdays Tuesday, July 1: Meet at the church at Noon. We will have a pizza/bowl at Stardust Lanes in Grove City (may switch with June 25 depending on weather)
Wednesday, July 16: (during VBS week) Free youth Thank you day for VBS help! April will treat you to lunch and a movie. Arrive at 11am. We will finish by 4pm so that we can assist with VBS at 5:30pm.
Wednesday, July 23: Columbus Zoo & Zoombezi Bay. Cost $30 or if 15 or more attend the cost will decrease by $3. The fee will be reduced if you already have a Zoo membership.
Wednesday, August 6: Kings Island ($40 for group rate of 15 or more including the cost of gas) $9.99 for souvenir cup with free refills)
Children During the summer we will offer the following:
Nursery open from 7:45am – 12:15pm for children under 4. AWE at 9:15am Service for children ages 4 – 10. Sunday School at 10:15am for children ages 4 – 10. AWE at 11am Service for children ages 4 – 10. Sensory Sensitive AWE at 11am Service.

will serve as Junior Tribe Leaders!
Children learn to trust God as they join Moses on the incredible journey through the wilderness and discover what it was like to live in the Israelite camp.

Clippers Outing
We will start selling tick-ets to the Clippers Game on Sunday, June 29. The game is on July 19 at 7pm; tickets are $12. We will be along the first base side again and we plan to make even more noise than we did last year as we have 70 tickets!! Don't miss out on this fun evening. Family
Gay Games
As interest continues to grow in our bus trip to Cleveland for the Gay Games Opening Ceremo-nies on August 9, we will continue to extend the deadline. Archie Griffin, the only two time Heisman Trophy winner, will be the
Keynote Speaker for the New Life UMC 12th Annual Buckeye Season Kickoff Party Fund-raiser which will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Rd. The proceeds of the event will be used to provide meals, clothing, health care and other ne-cessities for people who are poor and homeless in Columbus.
As a part of this fundraiser, a Silent Auction will be held. Donated items will be
gratefully accepted; we are especially interested in athletic tickets, time share weeks, OSU clothing/items, household items, antiques, jewelry, and purses or such. Contact Evy, [email protected], for more information. (Tax exempt number available.)
You are also invited to be a sponsor; choosing one of these four options:

NNEMAP Needs Drivers
We are in need of 3-4 volunteers with a pickup truck who could go down once a week to pick up food from Mid-Ohio Foodbank in Grove City near the intersection of I 71 and Stringtown Road. Training will be given and the volunteer would only work for 3-4 hours each week. Please contact Roy Clark at 614-542-7366 with any questions or names.
Backpack Season Is Approaching
In mid-July NNEMAP will begin distributing over 500 backpacks full of
school supplies. Please consider filling a backpack with grade appropriate
supplies for the less fortunate children in our community. Supply lists will
be available from the Welcome Desk, located in the Milling Area. You can
also download the supply list HERE.
