… and what we do
We do not only develop newproducts for cargo terminals, wealso make sure that the higheststandards apply to our manufac-turing. We look after applicationof state-of-the-art computer systems for process and infor-mation handling as well as fordata interchange with other cargo terminals, forwarders andairlines around the world.
Airports of modern age expe-rience a drastic growth in airtraffics resulting in a large in-crease of cargo volume.
International standards are also continuously increasing. Tocope with this situation is anambitious goal for airports, air-lines and authorities.
Siemens Dematic AG supplies a wide range of productsdesigned to meet the require-ments of our customers. Weconcentrate our efforts to pro-vide equipment and services inand around the cargo terminal.

Efficient ramp handling at land-side is essential for a cost-effec-tive cargo handling operation. A strong increase in prepackedair cargo demands efficient andsafe facilities.
Siemens Dematic offers a widerange of truck dock systemsranging from stationary docklifts to complex movablemachines with on-board weigh-ing equipment and ULD contourchecking devices.

Siemens Dematic pays maxi-mum attention to safety atBuild-up and Breakdown areasand to all aspects of man-machine interface (MMI).
Our design takes in accountsafety measures such as work-ing heights and provides safetyskirts at all necessary positions,i.e. decks are equipped withwalkways.
However, advanced air cargofacilities additionally demandhigher degrees of automation.
Today usually ETV’s TV’s etc. areoperated by computer systemswithout any human interven-tion. This ensures a decrease ofrisks for the operators whileincreasing operational perfor-mance.

A wide range of ETV’s, CSS-Stacker cranes and BSS-Stackercranes from our standard pro-duct range are available to solveany storage requirements.
Storage and retrieval equipmentis a very essential part of a cargohandling system – designed tooperate 24 hours per day and365 days per year. With ourselection of components andstructural design we achieveoptimum availability and relia-bility of our equipment.
From manual operation throughsemi-automatic mode up to fullautomated unmanned opera-tion – we provide the controlsystems to maximise the effi-ciency of your operation. We area pioneer in the field of fullyautomated systems and applylatest technologies such as optical positioning systems orfrequency-controlled AC-drives.
Whether half-size units, 10 ft or20 ft ULD’s, empty or fullyloaded containers and palletsare handled: Siemens Dematichas developed the appropriateequipment in close liaison withterminal operators, airlines andconsultants. With the experience of over
1,000 installations we have thecapacity to give you a fully inte-grated solution – all equipmentfrom a single source.

Mail HandlingSortation of mail trays, tubs, sacks and parcels, within strictflight deadlines, requires everyprocess be done quickly andwith great accuracy. Our totalsystem solutions integrateproven cargo handling equip-ment with high speed sortationtechnologies. We carry a complete line of transport andsortation conveyors includingcrossbelt and tilt tray sorters, chute technologies, controls andsoftware.
As a leader in technologies integration, Siemens Dematichas the experience and tech-nologies you need for a totalmail system solution.
The tilt tray sorter provides eco-nomical sortation for packages, mail pouches and assorted con-tainers from 1 to 110 pounds.Items are transferred frominfeed conveyors onto movingtrays. At the appropriate divertpoint, the trays tilt to gently dis-charge items onto chutes ortake-away conveyors.
The crossbelt sorter providesperformance features un-matched by other sortationtechnologies. The powered beltconveyor on each carrier provides positive off-loading ofeach item resulting in faster sortrates and closer, more concen-trated divert points. This meansmore chutes can be concentrat-ed in a small space-reducing theoverall footprint of the system.
