RE: Enbridge Energy / United Way Susan Miller Impact Day Service Project   Enbridge supported The Santa Maria Hostel program through hard work and hands-on assistance with their annual needs at the facility, which houses nearly two hundred women and their children. Over fifty volunteers worked all day to do extensive landscaping and repaint several apartments. Additionally, I wanted to highlight a unique, high-impact project led by one of our talented colleagues, Mr. Alex Luna. Addiction and Recovery are deep-seeded struggles with the women at Santa Maria, so Alex spearheaded a project to paint a giant “Road to Recovery” mural across three walls in one of the meeting rooms. With his air brush and the help of two others on his team, he designed and executed a bright and colorful mural that fills a previously drab and institutional-feeling common room. His attention to detail and the effort he put forth to pull off this ambitious project in a single day is commendable, and the women in recovery now have a beautiful and artful focal point for mapping out their accomplishments and milestones reached in getting clean. Alex and his team did an amazing job, and it was his dedication to his craft and the hard work of his team that made an otherwise good service project truly exceptional.  Benjamin Wulf, Enbridge EnergyUnited Way Susan Miller Impact Day Sponsor
