Who We Are Whether you are a student or professional re-entering the workforce, transitioning into a new career or an entrepreneur ready to take the leap of faith and start your own business, we are the resource for you!

Who is Compass? We are a local career coaching, resume writing and training firm located in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. We serve a variety of clients from students to CFO's and entry-level to government professionals. We also have contracts with city government, schools, resorts, and various other industries. Having served 100's of clients and held multiple events and workshops around the Valley, we continue to grow by delivering programs that benefit individuals and organizations to grow professionally and personally in Arizona. Compass Life and Career Coaching was established in 2011 by Edgar R. Olivo in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Where is Compass? We are a mobile and social organization. This means we can conveniently meet and communicate with our clients in various ways such as in-person, virtually, telecommunication, and electronically. That is the beauty of our services, we bring them to you!

What are Compass Hours of Operation? We are flexible to receive communications from you 24/7 and 365 days of the year, however, we schedule our consultations and respond to inquiries during normal business hours. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00p pm.

Compass Life and Career Coaching™ offers multiple services to help you at any point of your career journey. We can start from scratch or pick up wherever you are in your career transition.



Get The Skills You Need From Us! Jokingly we tell our clients, the skills and knowledge you gain from working with us are the “birds and the bees” conversations you probably did not get from your parents, teachers, peers, or other influential figures in your life. Unfortunately, many of the “real life skills” we need to get a job, transition to a new career, or how to start a business were never taught to us growing up. This is what makes us different from other career coaching practices. We teach you the skills and put you in the driver seat so you can take action on your own career destiny.

Our billing information is the same as our contact information. Payment arrangements will be made at initial consultation. Payments are made to: Compass Life and Career Coaching™ Career Coaching Policies and Procedures

Career Coaching is about you and making it an experience to move you forward. Our policies and procedures are designed to provide the framework for our work together. Please note all of the details of our agreement. The purpose of the policies and procedures and agreement is to assure that we are both clear about what we expect from our coaching relationship. Please let us know if there is anything below that is not clear and we can talk about it. The real work is yours to do, and we want you to choose the pace that is effective for you. If at any time, you are not comfortable with any part of our coaching partnership, let us know immediately so that we can deal with the situation and move forward. Please note the following important information.

• Communication o Call or text 480.628.7459 at the agreed upon time to begin our sessions. o Please call or arrive on time to our sessions. o If the line is busy or there is now answer please call back one minute later until we

connect. o Please do not leave a message and wait for us to call you back. o Cancellations must be made no later than 48 hours prior to a scheduled session. o Failure to cancel 48 hours prior to a session will result in a cancellation fee to be

determined by the Coach. • Payment

o Payment is due before services are rendered. o Fees are collected at the time of the session. Cash, Check, or Credit Card are acceptable

forms of payment. o One session is approximately 60 minutes unless otherwise stated in the service package

selected.



• Missed Appointments o We understand emergencies happen to anyone; therefore please call whenever possible

and let us know of the circumstances that keep you from attending a session. o Such events as death in the family, serious accidents, serious illness, and hospitalization

are considered “emergencies”.

o Your appointment is reserved strictly for you, please call to cancel at least 24 hours in advance otherwise the full amount for a missed appointment fee will be charged.

• Confidentiality and Limited Liability o Everything we discuss in our sessions is strictly confidential. o If you wish for me to make contact or do research for you or leave messages with others I

will need a release giving me permission to do so. o We are obligated to report any illegal activity by the Client, or admission by the Client of

the intent to commit an illegal act. o The Client acknowledges that we are required to cooperate fully with law enforcement

and other authorities as required by law. • Coaching vs. Counseling

o Counseling and psychotherapy are processes concerned with feeling, understanding and healing deep emotional issues.

o A counselor or psychotherapist explores the past and looks at family or origin or trauma issues.

o We are not a licensed therapist or psychotherapist nor do we provide mental health counseling.

o Clients with psychological or other medical problems should consult a qualified health care professional.

o Any action taken in regard to therapy, medical advice, or mental health counseling, or any other activity not directly related to the Services provided to the Client by the Coach will be at the sole discretion of and will remain the sole responsibility of the Client. The Coach will not be held accountable and shall remain blameless for any consequences arising as a result of any professional therapy, counseling or any other activity not directly related to the Services provided by the Coach.

o We are a Certified Life and Career Coaching firm dedicated to listen to you, ask you powerful questions, and guide you to your own answers.

o We will help you move forward in your life and career journey by providing you with coaching, consulting and resources available

• Termination o A good termination process is important to you and us. o Please give a one-session notice for termination of service. o We appreciate the opportunity to make final recommendations and separate in a

meaningful and respectful way. • Our Commitment to YOU

Terms of Agreement This agreement is between Compass Life and Career Coaching™ and ___________________________

o I understand that coaching is a partnership, formed with the shared goal of my success based on my own individual definition and terms.

o I understand that my coach regards me as whole and healthy, and will help me to focus on my present and future actions and choices.

o I understand that coaching is not therapy, counseling, or mental health care. The coach is not functioning as a licensed mental health professional, and coaching is not intended as a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, treatment for mental illness, abuse recovery, professional medical advice, financial advice, or legal counsel.

o I am willing and ready to make shifts, even leaps, in my life and career! o I am willing to stretch beyond my comfort zone. o I will let my coach know if something isn’t working for me. o I give my coach permission to assign tasks to me at which point I can accept, decline, or modify

the task. Once accepted, I agree to be accountable for following through with the action. o I accept full responsibility for any actions or inactions I may take as a result of coaching. o I understand that I will, at times, be challenged and this may be uncomfortable. o I will be open and honest. o I agree to promptly pay before services are rendered. o I agree to call or make our scheduled sessions on time.

How Does Tele-Coaching Work? While coaching can be done in a number of ways; the most effective use of everyone’s time is the telephone. The way it works is that you call us at a pre-scheduled time. The call duration is determined by the service selected, usually a call will be 60 minutes. Additional correspondence between calls will occur by e-mail as a means of outlining our discussions, your goals, and any other relevant information.
