Carbon Dioxide Requirements For Deep Seated Fire.

Project : Eon Metal Sdn. Bhd.

Location : Valdor

Area : Room B

Volume of Space : 12m (W) x 5.8m (L) x 3.5m (H) : 243.6 m³

Design Criteria : Dry electrical, wiring insulation hazards in general (not less than 200 lbs (91 kg).

System : Total Flooding

Design Concentration : 50%

Rate of Discharge : To reach design concentration within 7 minutes (For Deep Seated Fires but rate will not be less than required to develop a concentration of 30% in 2 mins.

Ambient Temperature : 30 deg.C

Volume Factor For Total Flooding : 1.33 kg CO2/m³

Amount of CO2 Gas Needed For Total Flooding : 243.6m³ x 1.33 kg/m³ : 324 kg

Assume openings are covered by drop curtains on activation of CO2 discharge, compensation is not required.

Allow Safety Factor : 10%

Total CO2 Gas Required : 324 x 1.1 : 356.4 kg.

Total Quantity Provided : 356.4 kg. ( 8 Nos. of 45 kg CO2 Cylinders )

Design Concentration : 50%

Rate of Discharge : To reach design concentration within 7 minutes (For Deep Seated Fires but rate will not be less than required to develop a concentration of 30% in 2 mins.

Ambient Temperature : 30 deg.C

Volume Factor For Total Flooding : 1.33 kg CO2/m³

Amount of CO2 Gas Needed For Total Flooding : 105.6 m³ x 1.33 kg/m³ : 140 kg
