CarbideClad is engineered specifically for harsh boiler environments. Even in temperatures as high as 1,550 O F (845 O C) CarbideClad provides up to 10 times more* erosion resistance than carbon steel in furnace zone conditions and up to 50 times more erosion resistance than carbon steel in superheater conditions. CarbideClad is engineered specifically for harsh boiler environments. Even in temperatures as high as 1,550OF (845OC) CarbideClad provides up to 10 times more* erosion resistance than carbon steel in furnace zone conditions and up to 50 times more erosion resistance than carbon steel in superheater conditions.

Our pre-alloyed powder with spherical morphology allows forup to 50 percent higher deposit efficiency versus competitors. Our pre-alloyed powder provides for a better coating versus other competitor options. Why? Our homogenous blend of nickel and chromium is manufactured for consistency which yields improvedbond strength and higher resistance to erosion in the finished coating.

*Boiler Inspection Services reports 2009-2013.

The higher the temperature, the greater the problems of erosion and corrosion can become. If you’re managing bubbling bed or fluidized-bed boilers, pulverized coal boilers, or off-gas hoods in steelmaking plants, you’re keenly aware of the erosion and corrosion caused by their extremeheat and particulate materials.

You need vessel and hood walls that can take a beating; with a surface hard enough to withstand erosion and the tensile strength to withstand sustained, high pressure and abrasive conditions. In short, you need Whertec CarbideClad.

CarbideClad uses our HighVelocity Oxy Fuel application process, so it’sideal for fast onsite application. Our average production rates per applicator are 6-8 square feet per hour so your maintenance downtime is reduced.

Best of all, CarbideClad provides predictive maintenance capability. This means you not only get a more precise application, but you can predict much more accurately whenmaintenance is required. And because CarbideClad is repairable, future maintenance doesn't mean complete vessel and hood wall resurfacing. Now you can relax when the heat is on. With CarbideClad’s high performance and precise, measurable application, unexpected problems and downtime caused by erosion can be a thing of the past.
