The most important building standing in Harmony is the United Methodist Church. It is a modest Greek Revival buil ding raised well above the ground with a small vestibu l e on its pedimented entrance front . The vestibule may be a subsequent addit i on. In many details , it is like Friendship Church and Concord Church , although each has its own distinct character .

The Harmony United Methodist Church is located on the south west corner of the intersection of Maryland Routes 16 and 578 in Harmony, Caroline County. The church is a mid-nineteenth century building constructed in the Greek Revival style.

The one story frame church is three by three bays with a rec­tangular plan on a brick foundation. The main facade (north elev­ation) has a full pediment gable and molded cornice. There are pilaster strips on the corners of each .facade. The main entrance has an enclosed one story, one bay porch with double doors and a pediment cornice. To each side of the entrance and in each bay of the east and west elevations, are tall windows each containing narrow double 6/6 pane sash, flat wood lintels, and black louvered shutters. There are also pilaster strips between each window on the east and west elevations.

Along the south facade and extending to the west is a modern wing.
