From the hour of shining stars and dropping dews, from the night a moment I emerging flittering out

For to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet

There is nothing that keeps wicked men at any one moment out of hell, but the mere pleasure of God

Such is the constitution of all things, or such the plastic power of the human eye, that the primary forms, as the sky, the mountain, the tree, the animal, give us a delight in and for themselves.

Our eyes are opened, that we see clearly; our ears are unstopped, that we have been able to hear distinctly the words you have spoken

We all belong to one family; we are all children of the Great Spirit; we walk in the same path; slake our thirst at the same spring; and now affairs of the greatest concern lead us to smoke the pipe around the same council fire!

And yet it will be a thing little short of miracle, if in so spread a business as this, the devil should not get in some of his juggles, to confound the discovery of all the rest.

Man does not stand in awe of man, nor is the soul admonished to stay at home, to put itself in communication with the internal ocean, but it goes abroad to beg a cup of water of the urns of men.

If only there could be rain in my foot prints

People, People, because he longed for them

Every leaf and every whispring breath, Conveyd a foe, and every foe a death

If They remain alien elements, unassimilated they are mere obstruction to the current of our national life.

When the wells dry, they know the wealth of water

This land, in short, lacks nothing to be regarded as blest

The mystery that had bewildered her was solved by the word and from that moment she rose from groveling in shame and self-pity, and began to live again in the ideal.

A dim smile that had the effect of a moist sponge passed over a sunk piece of painting

She had gone where the wicked cease from troubling, and the weary are at rest

He refuses to be alone

Im Nobody! Who are you?

Auro pretiosior Omni

The gas-light wakens from the shadows here and there the objects which lie scattered through the room

That is all

Captive Fragment ReflectionAfter assembling my fragments together, a story began to appear. After choosing what would be the first line of the piece, the rest of the poem began to fall into place. The first line talks bout coming into this world wanting to become something and learn things. But unfortunately, the bad things also tempt me. After that is established it goes on talking about how I am not the only one going through this, that there are others who are going through the same thing. Following the theme of unity the poem begins to say that there are still going to be things that are going to try to tempt us. Some us of may fall by the wayside we still trudge on. The rest of the poem tells the story of those who find content in life with what they have. They enjoy people over the treasures of the world. Over this entire poem really speaks to as a person. I am very much a person of unity and how we should all support each other. I am also a spiritual person, and I noticed how I picked a few quotes that dealt with god or the devil. Its cool to see how I am influenced by the writings of the class and how they can be connected to create a full poem.
