In 2020 we should be more generous with our

time, with our words of encouragement, with our

forgiveness, love, and in our acts of kindness.

I believe that if we are more generous in these

areas we will reap from our generosity.

Please remember that God really knows how to

bless people and can meet our needs in gamut of

ways.

May 2020 be a prosperous and productive year

for you and Christ Church.

We’re looking forward to a brand-new year here at Capri Christian

Church as we continue to do our best to reach this community for Christ.

So, thanks again and God bless you and yours during 2020.

Also, I want to congratulate Patty Irving and our cast of nearly

thirty characters dressed for the Live Nativity & Christmas caroling event.

The rain didn’t stop us as we moved indoors for one night of the program

and it was a hit. Well done! The costumes were all made by ladies in the

church – starting back in April – and they are so professional looking. We

look forward to this annual event.

Last two things… First, we are looking for more volunteers to be

part of our Audio/Visual team for weekend worship services. If you’re

interested, every Monday at 11am we will be doing A/V training

(soundboard, iPad, computer, lights, etc.). Let’s get you plugged in to this

ministry team. Second, if you haven’t downloaded the NEW church app

in the last 3 weeks you need to. Some have told us they already had it on

their phone – that is the old app with the same name and same icon (we

know it’s confusing). See me if you need help on this as we want you to

stay connected with our events and latest news and to have access to other

tools like the small group lessons.

Once you become a Christian, you are held to a much higher

standard. Jesus is our example of how we are to live, and He set the

bar pretty high. While we aren’t really expected to clear the bar on

every attempt, we should be seriously trying to and our first priority

is with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Whenever you see “one

another” in the New Testament, that is who it is referring to. It goes

without saying that we should be kind, tenderhearted, gentle,and

patient, but also that we should help to bear one another’s burdens. If

you see a brother or sister struggling, and you have the means to help

them, do it! It may be only to listen, or to help with something physical,

or financial, or maybe only to give words of encouragement.

Everyone may not have the gift of encouragement, but anyone

can be an encourager. Then there’s the big one, forgiveness. Jesus gave

His all that we may be forgiven, what could a brother or sister possibly

have done that we cannot forgive them for? Do petty egos blind us to

the command forgive others as I have forgiven you? As it has been said

many times before, how can we attract the world if the world doesn’t

see us as any different than itself? Priority number one, love and

forgive your brothers and sisters in Christ and then go and show that

love and forgiveness to the world!
