Cape Elizabeth High School
When Kindergarten was included, High School enrollment was less than 400. High School enrollment is expected to reach 600 in 2004-05.
Original mechanical
systems from the 1960’s need to be
replaced school-wide.
Increased Special Ed Needs
• Special education population is growing
• Resources need to be provided for a variety of disabilities
• In 2002-03 there are...– More students than ever with
varied special needs– Less classroom space than ever
• Additional space is needed for...– Standard programs– New technical equipment for
book scanning, computer programs and life skills training.

High School Parking
• The parking at the High School is very close and cars are often parked illegally. Many people park in “no parking zones” where fire trucks should be able to get in.
• Making the parking lots bigger should fix this.
Scott Shea Talks About The Gym
• The gym floor has no cushioning. It is laid right on cement and causes many injuries.• The gym roof leaks. • The bleachers are old and very hard to pull out and push back in.
High School Cafeteria Needs More Space
• Kids sit on the radiators and on the floor in the hallways.
• Each kid should have a table and chair to sit and eat lunch.
