prestigious universities such as the

University.

Faculty of Business and CommunityEducation

The Faculty of Business and CommunityEducation works constantly with industryand community bodies, updating existingprograms in line with business trends anddeveloping new programs.

The faculty consis ts of four schools with adiverse focus.

Faculty of Design, Arts and Hospitality

The Faculty of Design, Arts andHospitality oversees a wide range ofprograms that provide students with thenecess ary skil ls for a career in the diverseand challenging industries of hospitality,creative arts, built environment and digi talmedia.

The faculty has four schools deliveringprograms out of som e of the best facilitiesin Australia widely acknowledged byindustry to be world class.

Faculty of Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciencesaddresses the significant skill-shortagesacross the Health sector by providing highquality education and training in bothcreating new health sector workers andup-skil ling and re-skilling existing workers.

The Faculty continues to focus on highquality education and training to equip ourimportant health sector with skilled andproductive employees.

Opening the doors to university qualifications

For those students who want a university degree, we have more than 120 pathways touniversities in place.

More students are enrolled atSouthbank Institute as a pathway to

further study than at any other

vocational training provider inQueensland. For those students who

want a university degree, an

increasing number of our programsoffer a direct pathway to university.

While some of our diploma andadvanced diploma programs allow

students to enter universi ty degree

programs , others al low s tudents toenrol in a dual award program,

completing a Southbank Institute

qualification and then progress ing onto university to gain a bachelor

degree. This enables students to earn

two qualifications a practicaldiploma and a more theoretical

bachelor degree in the three years it

would normally take to earn thebachelor degree alone.

Pathways to universities offer a cost-savingoption for students who want a university

degree. For instance, a Vietnames e student

who wants an Australian university degreewill the following options:

1) Study in Australia

Via pathway Univers ity only

Diplom a: 1 year** Foundation: 1 year*

Bachelor: 2 years Bachelor: 3 years

Total: 3 years Total: 4 years

Instead of spending 4 years to s tudy a

bachelors degree, the student may want tostudy a diploma in 1 year and articulate to

university with credit. The total amount of

time for a bachelors degree, in this case, isonly 3 years.

study bachelors degrees with

different universities in Australia.
