The major feature of Leda’s cantilever gates is that they are only supported at one end and are designed to operate without the need for a surface mounted track across the driveway. This is normally benefi cial when there are large volumes of, or heavy, vehicular traffi c. They require less space than swing gates and are easier to safeguard.

Cantilever gates are subject to reduced maintenance costs, making them a more reliable option than track sliding gates.

There are fi ve cantilever gate types, each providing options to make gate selection an easy task. Steel sections (RHS) used during manufacture increase in size and wall thickness through the gate types to provide different levels of security.

An alternative undercarriage system for Industrial models is designed for sites with insufficient room to install a running rail, or where site conditions such as snow drifts, effect operation.> Refer p33 for details.

Can t i l eve r Ga te Op t ionAn alternative system that can be adopted to Industrial cantilever gates. With concealed rollers, this type of gate is ideal in dusty locations, or areas of snow drift where the running rail could be, at times, partially covered. The undercarriage option is also ideal for applications where there is insuffi cient room to install a running rail.

The gate pivots around a centralised roller assembly eliminating the need for conventional gate extensions. It is also useful for gate installations on sloping sites.

Where site conditions are not suitable for a running rail, cantilever gates are available with an undercarriage option.Undercarriage cantilever gates are available for Industrial (ICLU) models.

Cantilever gates continue to be the popular choice as a safe reliable gate design. They can be installed in a number of confi gurations, using bi-parting operation with options to include central pedestrian or smaller swing access gate.

Cantilever gates can also be installed with an overhead drive option for unrestricted operation in fl ood-prone areas or for alpine regions where drive mechanisms can be affected by compacting snow.

Roads and driveway entrances can be spanned up to 10 metres allowing clearance for central kerbs and road crowns. With less rolling resistance, cantilever gates can achieve faster, open and close speeds than track gates. Speeds can be adjusted (normally 0.6m -1.0m / second) and can be ‘ramped’ up or down at the end of the gate travel.

Heavy duty rollers and receiving rails together with a well-balanced design ensure smooth and effi cient operation of all cantilever gates.
