Research for the benefit of the SME, T7th Framework Programme
The aim is to strengthen the 'innovation capacity' of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe and their contribution to the development of new technology based products and markets. The programme will help them outsource research, increase their research efforts, extend their networks, better exploit research results and acquire technological know how, bridging the gap between research and innovation

PROGRAMA DE FORMACIÓN TRANSVERSAL
Escuela de Doctorado de la UC (EDUC)OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The overall purpose of the project is to greatly enhance the competitive power of the European galvanic industry by implementing emulsion pertraction technology for this sector. The following strategic objectives are: i) extend the lifetime of new passivating baths with at least a factor 10, ii) reduce the waste quantities, produced from spent passivating baths, by 90 % and iiii) improve the quality of the passivating operation by 90%.

Contingency planning:
1. One of the RTD partners cannot fullfill its task: Since most of the RTD partners (TNO, Ondeo, GE and UC) have work with the principle of the EP technology before the unfulfilled task will be divided over the other RTD partners.
2. One of the SME´s cannot fullfill its tasks: The AG´s of the various countries are responsible for the partitipation of their SME´s. In such a case the AG of the country concerned will enroll a replacement SME to the consortium.
3. One of the AG´s cannot fulfill its tasks: If their tasks cannot be ported to the other AG´s, the German AG will take place of the AG concerned.
