Cannon Music Camp Fiftieth Anniversary Reunion Information July 6-8, 2018 July 1, 2018 CMC Alumni: We are so excited to see you and to have you help us to celebrate the 50 th anniversary of Cannon Music Camp. Below you will find the schedule for the weekend. You will check in on Friday in the lobby of Broyhill Music Center (the brickyard at the bottom of the stairwell near the music school offices). It is the same place for Saturday morning check in. On Friday night you are invited to attend the faculty recital in the concert hall followed by the reception in the instrumental rehearsal room (119). Many of you will continue your celebration at your favorite watering holes after that. All reunion ensemble rehearsals will be held on Saturday. Notice that you may perform in up to three ensembles. Due to schedule and logistical time constraints, we must schedule the jazz band and choir rehearsal at the same time. Unfortunately, attendees interested in both groups must make a choice. Singing in a choir always helps our musicianship so we encourage everyone to sing in the reunion choir if not performing with the jazz band! On Saturday, lunch is on your own. There are many excellent dining facilities on or off campus within walking distance and we will help you locate them. There are afternoon rehearsals and then time to get ready for the banquet. The banquet has evolved from formals and suits or tuxes in the 70s and 80s to nice Sunday dress. You may pick your own attire but we would suggest something nice for the banquet that you feel comfortable and appropriate for your performance in the evening. We will be going directly from the banquet to the concert. After the concert you may socialize on your own in town. If you are still in town, you are welcome to join us on Sunday at 2PM for the 2018 CMC Honors Recital II in the concert hall. We wish for you safe travels back to your homes and come and see us anytime. We are so proud that we have been able to help thousands of students have a wonderful musical experience in the summer and look forward to our future. Thanks for helping us celebrate! There’s one more “form” you need to complete for us by Tuesday Evening, July 3. Although we know we’ve asked you to fill out something on Google forms a couple of times, this is the final commitment to perform. http://bit.ly/CMC50thReunionPerformers . We need this information so we can have the music ready this week for the ensembles. As a side note, our alumni will be joining the current campers for this performance so there’s no need to fear that an ensemble won’t have all the parts covered, we’ve taken care of that. All we have to do now is come together for a great weekend of music making by young and “experienced” (not old) musicians! For the performance, current campers will wear their camp t-shirts. The current campers will not be a part of the receptions or banquet as they have their own banquet the following week for this year’s camp. We’re planning on a great weekend of catching up and celebrating all the great things that Cannon Music Camp means to each of us in so many different ways. Thank you for making this reunion a part of your summer plans. Sincerely, CMC Administration and Staff https://today.appstate.edu/2018/06/26/cannon-music-camp
