If it’s not from cannabis, how can it work?

Terpenes are often considered the “active” components of essential oils. While plants will produce them to infl uence their external environments (e.g., attract pollinators, deter pests, etc.), many also have physiological benefi ts for humans.

A.

No, the terpenes are from other botanical sources to ensure our products comply with Canada’s Industrial Hemp Regulations and Cannabis Act.

Q.

Q.

Q.

A.

Terpenes are not exclusive to cannabis, and in fact, are common to all plants. The terpenes found in cannabis are also found in many other common botanicals, and our bodies do not diff erentiate a particular terpene (e.g., D-limonene) from cannabis versus the same chemical structure extracted from another plant.

A.

Are the terpenes used for Cannanda™

products from the cannabis plant?

What are Terpenes?

While CBD and CB2™ will often result in very similar results, the way they work is diff erent. Our Cannanda CB2™ terpene blend is formulated to directly activate CB2 receptors, which are one of the main receptors of our bodies’ endocannabinoid system. CBD, on the other hand, has a very low affi nity for CB2 receptors,so direct activation of CB2 receptors does not happen with CBD. Instead, CBD can help our endocannabinoid system in indirect ways, including :

• “Allosteric modifi cation” of cannabinoid receptors. These receptors can take on various confi gurations, and can be found in “inactive” forms, so CBD can “prime” them, making them easier to activate.

• CBD is a competitive inhibitor of FABPs (fatty acid binding proteins), which are the proteins that bind our endocannabinoids for removal out of the body. CBD binds to FABPs preventing them from shuttling our endocannabinoids out of the body.

• CBD also activates the 5-HT receptors (similar to serotonin) and D2 receptors (like dopamine does) along with a number of other potential receptors (either as an activator or inhibitor) ...but again, not so much a direct activation on either CB1 or CB2 receptors.

A.

Q. What is the diff erence between CBD oil and Cannanda’s CB2™??

All our products are 100% legal in Canada, US, Australia, and any otherterritory that allows hemp seed oil. Our terpenes are isolated from essential oils from non-cannabis sources, and our hemp seed oil is pressed fromCanadian organic hemp seeds, which have been cleaned to remove tracesof the hemp fl ower/bud.

Q.

Q.

Q.

A.

Are Cannanda™ products legal?

While most will use our CB2™ products as a cost-eff ective alternative to CBD and get great results, the best results, are realized once you combine Cannanda CB2™ with CBD. Especially in individuals whose receptors may not be in the ideal confi guration, CBD will help put them in the “open” position, and then our terpenes will be able to activate them appropriately.

If CBD works for you, then there is really no need to use CB2.™ However, CBD continues to be quite expensive when using typical therapeutic doses, and using Cannanda CB2™

in combination with CBD gives users the potential opportunity to maintain a great response to CBD at a lower dose, thereby saving money. Further, with Cannanda CB2™, there is no real risk of adverse drug interactions, or risk of positive results on drug tests, which are two known risks with CBD.

A.

A.

Can you use both CBD oil and Cannanda’s™

products?

CBD oil does work for me, why would yours?

Page 5: Cannanda-Most-Asked-Questions-FEB-2021 - GARY

Cannanda’s™ terpene blends are concentrated and only require 2-3 drops per use. When the cost of a vial is broken down to cost per dose, a single vial can provide at least 40 doses (at 3 drops to dose), which places it in line with many other therapeutic products in health food stores today.

Q.

Q.

A.

Why is it so expensive?

Our concentrated terpene vials can be taken anywhere in the world. Enhanced Eff ect™ and CB2™ Hemp Seed Oil (both liquid and softgel versions), however, contain hemp seed oil, which may not be legal in various countries around the world. Check with local laws before traveling with any of these products.

A.

Can you travel internationally with it?

Q.Absolutely! We continue to get excellent feedback from pet owners who use our CB2™ Wellness (or CB2™ Hemp Seed Oil). Dose in dogs is based on body weight. For every 25 lbs of body weight, use 1 tsp/day of CB2™ Hemp Seed Oil , or 1 drop/day of CB2™ Wellness. These dosing instruction are written right on the label of our corresponding Dog-Ease CB2™ labels. Mix in with their food for best absorption. Cats, however, metabolize terpenes slower, so they should only use the product in lower amounts and only for a couple days at a time at most.

A.

Can pets use it?

Q.

A.

Can children use it?

Yes! Every ingredient we use has GRAS status (generally recognized as safe), which is a US-based food safety designation. This means that these ingredients can be added to food products without further regulatory approval—and food has no age restrictions. By creating our blends using isolated terpenes, we can intentionally avoid the use of more problematic terpenes (such as those in eucalyptus or rosemary essential oils), which make them off-limits for children. That said, we generally recommend our products for children 6+ years old.

Q.

Q.

Terpenes have the highest bioavailability when inhaled and “direct inhalation” is the preferred method of use. However, for convenience with the CB2™ Wellness,™

where the main terpene is a sesquiterpene (a larger molecule that evaporates slower), ingestion is a suitable alternative.

Cannabis tolerance aff ects all regular users of cannabis and developsin two ways within the body. The primary pathway tolerance developsis at the cellular level (called pharmacodynamic tolerance), where acouple things can happen: 1) down-regulation of CB1 receptors in thebrain ( body makes fewer cannabinoid receptors), and /or 2) uncouplingof the biological pathway (so even if THC binds to CB1, the signal is nottransmitted any further). These mechanisms are tightly controlled by the body and will require a tolerance break to “reset” (Enhanced Eff ect™

won’t do much in this case).

The secondary pathway through which tolerance develops is at the organ level (absorption/elimination, called pharmacokinetic tolerance). This is where a product like Enhanced Eff ect™ can be of benefi t since it can boost the amount of THC entering the brain. In this way, we can help regular users go longer periods of time before needing a tolerance break.

So the eff ects are really dependent on a person’s unique physiology (e.g., depending on how they developed tolerance according to the contribution of each pathway just discussed).

work for me but not my friends?

The unique blend of terpenes in CB2™ works through activation of your body’s CB2 receptors. How much of a benefi t you feel will depend on a number of factors related to your physiology. First, your body has to produce enough CB2 receptors in the area you are looking for relief. For example, if you sprained your ankle, your body would normally up-regulate the expression of CB2 receptorsaround your ankle, so that when you use these terpenes, you’ll fi nd relief. If your body doesn’t adequately up-regulate CB2 receptors, there will not be enough receptors to activate so you won’t feel the benefi ts of the terpenes as much. BUT pay attention to other areas of your body... you might fi nd that other aspects of your health are improved (those areas where CB2 receptors are present in suffi cient quantities).

Second, the CB2 receptors’ conformation must be in the “open” confi guration. This allows the terpenes to activate CB2 receptorsand transmit a signal into the cell. If however, the receptors are in the “closed” confi guration, the terpenes might not be able to activate the receptors, or the signal might not be transmitted as it should. (Aside: this is when CBD becomes useful as it acts as an “allosteric modifi er”).

So you’ll notice benefi ts from the CB2™products assuming you’ve got plenty of CB2 receptors in the areas you want/need and assuming they are in the right confi guration. If one or both of the factors discussed are sub-optimal, the benefi ts you experience might be muted (although you might still get benefi ts to other areas of your body in unexpected ways).

There are very important distinctions between our multi-award-winning product and standard hemp seed oils. Here are some of those diff erences:

• Terpene-infused: with our physician-formulated multi-award-winning Cannanda CB2™ terpenes to

activate your CB2 receptor.

• World-leading stability, achieved through careful cultivar selection, processing, and a number of proprietary measures to ensure that our oil is fresh,

and that you won’t be consuming rancid/oxidized oils.

• Glass bottle: an impermeable barrier to oxygen and moisture (leading to better stability), and among the most recycled and recyclable materials.

• Cold-pressed from raw, Canadian hemp seeds meaning our oil is pesticide-free and solvent-free.

• Free from all Health Canada priority allergens.

• Our raw material hemp seed oil is Halal and Kosher-certified.

Yes, these products are absolutely safe for use whether your work test you for narcotics, or if you’re an athlete tested for banned substances. Our terpenes are extract from non-cannabis sources, and therefore, will not result in a positive test.

One note specific to CB2™ Hemp Seed Oil, however, is that it can contain small amounts of THC. The allowable limit is 10 ppm (most our batches test as “not detected” although the odd batch has had THC at detectable levels--usually no more than 2 ppm). At typical usage rates, this is far too low to show up on drug tests, but we feel this must be stated for full disclosure.

While no one has tested positive for THC using any of our products, if you are worried, we suggest you stick with our CB2™ Wellness blend to be 100% safe.

A.

Q.

Q.Yes! It’s absolutely safe, and in fact, we’ve created our blends with intention, and one of those factors were to develop them to be safe (and effective) when used together. In the nutritional supplement world, we call this “stacking” and it’s a great way to enjoy the benefits of our terpene blends without worrying about the negative interactions between products or thinking that you’re getting way too much of any particular terpene.

A.

Can I use a couple of your products at the same time?

Is CB2™ safe to use if my work conducts random tests for narcotics use?

Q.If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you might have seen the term “CB2 agonist” many times, especially with respect to the CB2 studies we share.

The simple explanation is: An agonist is a chemical that binds to a receptor and activates the receptor to produce a biological response. (By contrast, an “antagonist” blocks the action of the agonist, while an “inverse agonist” binds to the receptor but causes an action opposite to that of the agonist.)

Hence “CB2 agonists” are chemicals (whether natural like our Cannanda CB2™ products or THC, or synthetic compounds like some pharmaceuticals) that bind to CB2 receptors and activates them to bring about a biological response.

Taking it one step further, a “selective” CB2 agonist is one that binds to only the CB2 receptor, but not other receptors.

This is where Cannanda CB2™ products (which are “selective” for just CB2 receptors) differ from something like THC (which also bind CB1 receptors), and why our products bring about nearly all the same health benefits as cannabis, but without the intoxication associated with CB1 activation.

Q.Considered an omega-3 fatty acid, SDA is an alternative non-fish, vegetarian source of omega-3s. When most think of vegetarian sources of omega-3s, ALA is what comes to mind. While ALA-rich foods often are recommended as an additional or alternative source of omega-3s for those who don’t (or can’t) consume fish, the conversion of ALA to longer long-chain fatty acids like EPA and DHA is inefficient. Specifically, it’s estimated that anywhere from less than 5% to 21% of ALA converts to EPA, while less than 1% to 9% of ALA converts to DHA. This low conversion is due to the rate-limiting enzyme, delta-6-desaturase.

The benefit of SDA is that it doesn’t require this enzyme to convert to EPA and DHA, so it’s conversion is far more efficient, making SDA an important fatty acid for everyone, but especially vegetarians.

Unfortunately, dietary sources of SDA are limited, but #hemp seeds are one of the best.

Each tbs of Cannanda CB2™ Hemp Seed Oil provides approximately 190 mg of SDA in addition to our multi-award-winning, doctor-formulated CB2 blend of terpenes that your CB2 receptors love.

A.

What is SDA?

Q.Yes, you can take any Cannanda CB2™ product with medications. At typical recommended amounts, we have not come across anything in published medical literature that would indicate a cause for concern. Unlike cannabis or CBD products, our products are not known to interact with drugs, and are made entirely of GRAS status ingredients (Generally Recognized as Safe). This is a US-based food-safety designation meaning that these ingredients can be added to food without any further regulatory approval... and food should not come with restrictions for any subpopulation (whether based on age, disease, or medications).

That said, it’s important to keep your prescribing doctor informed so that they can make any adjustments to your meds as needed (in many cases, we’ve heard patients were able to lower the amount of drugs that they needed to take).
