INTRODUCTION

This year, we are bringing Festival du Voyageur’s Canada Life School Program to you and your

students! We are offering a variety of activities for your classroom and for your students who are

learning from home. This is an unprecedented time, and with the new public health restrictions in

place, we have worked hard to create an inclusive and accessible program that highlights the history,

cultures, languages, and of course, joie de vivre of all of our ancestors.

In lieu of workshops and activities at Voyageur Park, we bring you three different types of

programming. We have designed a series of interactive free activities that cover a range of topics,

from voyageurs, canoes, Manitoba’s mammals, and more! For the first time ever, we are producing

make and take craft kits with instructions and supplementary activities for your classroom.

Finally, we are offering virtual live presentations from Fort Gibraltar, featuring colourful fur trade

characters from the past who will interact with your students. Please see the descriptions below for

more details on the workshops and presentations we have to offer.
