Celebrate Canada Day at one of the four corners of the Earth with two of Canada’s favourite boutique distilleries, convening far away from far away for an exploration of food, drink, and sense of place on Fogo Island, Newfoundland. The Newfoundland Distillery Company, based in Clarke’s Beach, NL, and Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers, hailing from Ontario’s Niagara region, both create fine spirits with an emphasis on locally sourced and grown fruits, herbs, grains, and botanicals. From juniper, seaweed, bakeapple and rhubarb, to Niagara wine grapes, orchard and stone fruit, rose hips and petals, the unique terroirs surrounding each distillery provide a thrilling collection of very distinct ingredients to discover. DAY 1 – Saturday, June 29, 2019

ARRIVAL Arrive on Fogo Island and allow the Island start to reveal itself on the drive through outport communities as you make your way off to your refuge, Fogo Island Inn. Take time for exploration. Revel in the natural beauty found around every bend.

Check into Fogo Island Inn, a traditional yet contemporary masterpiece of modern architecture and design. The Inn was named as Travel + Leisure’s Best Resort Hotel in Canada, 2017 and 2018 - among the country’s best hotels from coast to coast.

AFTERNOON Island Orientation with a Community Host. Be prepared for fresh perspectives and insights, stories and laughter during your half-day outing being led in your discovery of this “salty Narnia” by the people of the place, whose sense of self comes from deep historical ties to landscape and seascape.

6PM Welcome cocktail reception in the Lounge with our guest spirit purveyors.

6-10PM Supper served in the Dining Room at your leisure. We welcome you to enjoy our feature cocktails or signature spirit pairings (at additional cost).

LATE EVENING Relax in the Lounge to the sounds of live

local musical entertainment, retire to your room, or, make your way to the rooftop sauna and hot tubs for a soak as you gaze up at the infinitely starry sky above.

DAY 2 – Sunday, June 30, 2019 DAYBREAK Greet the sun as she rises and find a

handmade wooden Daybreak Tray outside your door filled with coffee or tea and fresh pastries. Linger.

MORNING Breakfast served in the Dining Room at your

leisure. 10:00AM Embark on a coastal hike with a Community

Host to Joe Batt’s Point past the Fogo Island Arts’ Long Studio, culminating in a visit to the Great Auk, the bronze sculpture created by artist Todd McGrain as part of his Lost Birds Project. On the way, forage for botanicals native to Fogo Island’s singular landscapes, and stop by the traditional root cellars and gardens that provide sustenance to Islanders and supply seasonal ingredients to the Inn’s Dining Room.

12-2PM (Dinner) lunch is served back at the Fogo Island Inn Dining Room at your leisure.

4–5:30PM Celebrate Canadian spirits at our guest and

community tasting experience. Enjoy food from the flavors of the summer while taking in local song and dance.

6-10PM Supper served in the Dining Room at your

leisure. We welcome you to enjoy our feature cocktails or signature spirit pairings (at additional cost).

EVENING A special film screening of Canadian

favourites in the Inn’s Cinema. DAY 3 – Monday, July 1, 2019 DAYBREAK Meet another morning with your Daybreak

Tray. Ease into the day gradually. EARLY MORNING Be the first to welcome Canada Day with an

optional sunrise hike along Turpin’s Trail East or Oliver’s Cove Trail.

7-10AM Breakfast is served at your leisure in the

Dining Room. MIDDAY Option for a self-guided hike along Lion’s

Den trail past the long-abandoned but not-forgotten communities of Eastern Tickle and Lion’s Den.

12-2PM (Dinner) Lunch is served back at the Inn in

the Dining Room at your leisure.

AFTERNOON Comparative tasting of Newfoundland and Ontario gins produced by our guest spirit purveyors in the Lounge. Learn about the botanicals and flavours of our distinct Canadian terroirs.

EVENING Join in the Canada Day festivities including

fireworks and a toast on the deck at nightfall. DAY 4 – Tuesday, July 2, 2019 DAYBREAK Enjoy your Daybreak Tray from the comfort

of your suite. MORNING Fortify yourself with a farewell breakfast in

the Dining Room. DEPARTURE Depart Fogo Island Inn for the journey
