John David Johnson was the proud winner of the Parent’s Auxiliary utility golf cart. thanks to everyone who supported the raffle.

Mrs. Murphy’s 11th grade chemistry students have been busy with all kinds of lab projects. the student’s objective in this lesson was to see “if equations can be written and balanced for chemical reactions?” Materials used included calcium chloride, Sodium Hydrogen carbonate, antacid tablet, phenol red indicator and 2 resealed plastic bags.

8th and 9th grade students in Mrs. alice Murphy’s physical science class took a bowling field trip to Fannin Lanes the week they were studying a chapter on momentum and forces.

Tyler reminds everyone that Cheerleading try-outs are March 13th and Dance team try-outs are March 28th. your child must be registered and fees paid for 2008-2009 school year to try-out and all accounts current.

The Canton Elks Club hoop shoot winners: Walker Prestel, Melanie crum, alec Glaze, Grayson ray, caroline terry, and Sterling James. Walker and Melanie will be representing ca in valdosta, Ga on March 15th for the national competition.

Mrs. Sheffield’s Biology i students were invited to visit the Mississippi crime Lab on January 17th.

Mrs. Sheffield’s Biology ii students were hands on while studying a chapter on cPr.

Students grades 4th-8th are preparing for the District Spelling Bee on February 21st. John Bryant Stewart, tara Fortenberry, Kate carter, Fidel Bello, Jacob Feduccia, Kraft McLean, Katelyn Jennings, Justin elliott, anna Williams, and tanner crosby were the first round winners.

On 2/7/08, the 7th grade life science class under the instruction of Mrs. Sheffield toured the Mississippi Museum of natural Science.
