Fourth Sunday in Lent
March 26, 2017
Campaign Prayer
St. Theresa, We pray for Your intercession,
For our Parish, our School,
its Pastor, Deacons and People.
Pray for us that this, our parish church and school,
dedicated to Your honor, may grow and prosper.
Help us by Your intercession to improve our Holy House
and the structures that house the work of this parish,
so we may continue to welcome pilgrims, edify the faithful,
educate the young, nurture vocations, and sanctify all
souls who hunger for truth and thirst for the beauty of
holiness. Help us to follow the example of Your faith, to be
ready for service, and humble in heart, and let us rejoice
always in God our Savior. May we be guarded by Your
intercessions from sin and sorrow to be shielded against
pride and envy, and teach us to love the Lord Jesus,
and all souls for His sake.

St. Theresa Parishioners & Friends,
One of my favorite sayings is: “If it weren't for the last minute, I
wouldn't get anything done.” As a recovering procrastinator I would
like to invite the faithful who want to explore some aspects of shame,
healing and hope to join me next week on Monday, March 27 and
Tuesday, March 28 evenings of reflection; and offering the Eucharist
together on Thursday, March 30.
If you have put off doing anything significant for Lent [procrastinators
UNITE], these 3 evenings are for you! My hope is to lay a small
foundation for you to set-up the spiritual work which all of us must do
for the 50 days of Easter and beyond.
I use the Big Stories [scripture] and my story [the only one I have] to tie
into our Hope who alone is Jesus Christ. Or to put it as I like to say: the
creature as object thru the eyes of the Creator:
#IKnewGodMustBeCrazy!
It is a process of life, hence the need for Easter and it takes the one
unrenewable commodity of our lives, time with God. I am not an
academician, though I thank God everyday for my teachers. I just
love the Word and the Church and how both have been a saving
action in my life by guiding me to know the love of Christ.
I am a practical theologian, like yourselves whom God has made His
own by Christ's love.

Nutrition & Spirituality: Restoring a Healthy Body Rhythm

“Our technological society has succeeded in multiplying
occasions of pleasure, yet has found it very difficult to
engender joy.” - Evangeli Gaudium
Description: When we hear the word nutrition, our mind
immediately thinks of food and eating. But what really
nourishes? This talk is about rediscovering the Sacred
Rhythm-Holy Order that nourishes, keeping us healthy and
balanced. Jesus gave us the example of how to live in a human
body and he nourishes us in Word and Sacrament. Through the
example of Jesus, this talk will address how to re-order our lives
around ritual and rhythm, and begin the path to restoring health
and nutrition in body, mind, and spirit. As we move into Holy
Week let us prepare ourselves for the Joy of the Divine Embrace
by reclaiming our Sacred Rhythm.
Presenter Bio: Laura Laine, MEd, RDN, LD—has worked for over
37 years as a Dietitian/Nutritionist, specializing in both pediatric
and adult nutrition, and as a spiritual director for 13 years.
She worked for Texas Children’s Hospital for 22 years, served
St. Laurence as Parish Administrator for 8 years, and now
practices as a dietitian and spiritual director in her business,
Sophia Grace Center for Nutrition,
Health, and Spirituality. She loves
helping children, adults, and families
reclaim the bounty of life through their
faith, family table, and balanced
