Camdenton R-III has always placed a heavy emphasis on its instructional offerings. The district maintains the highest state rating, that being the first school district in Missouri to have all schools in the district accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Osage BeachElementary School was named a Missouri Gold Star School in 2004-2005, and a federal designatedBlue Ribbon School in 2005-2006. Camdenton High School is one of only twelve high schools in Missouri to be designated to offer the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. The district was recognized in 2016 by the Southern Regional Education Board, winning the Transforming Teaching and Learning in a Rural District award. The district is also fully accreditedby AdvancEd. Camdenton High School was recognized as one of the Best High Schools in the State of Missouri in 2018 by U.S. News & World Report.

To accomplish our academic goals, the Camdenton R-III School District operates nine attendance centers. Six of the buildings are located on the campus in Camdenton, Missouri. They are as follows:Camdenton High School, Lake Career & Technical Center, Camdenton Middle School, Oak Ridge Intermediate School, Hawthorn Elementary School, and Dogwood Elementary School. The district operates two additional elementary centers. Hurricane Deck Elementary School is located sixteen miles north of Camdenton in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. This facility was recently expanded and renovated to meet the needs of our children. Osage Beach Elementary School is located nine miles east of Camdenton in Osage Beach, Missouri. This building is a new facility constructed in 2015 and will assist the district in serving a growing student population in this attendance area. Also, Camdenton R-III operates the Horizons Alternative School on Highway 54 West in Camdenton.
