Through various community service projects she inculcated in the students the motto of the school "We learn to serve". Ms. Mamta Rishi started the Interact club in the year 1996 under the keen guidance of Rotarian Maj. Dalbir Singh. She was felicitated for her innovative, inspirational and effective leadership, promoting safe and secure learning and improving the lives of pupil. Eminent personalities like Honourable Minister Shri Sharad Yadav, Dr. Dev Swaroop, Additional Secretary UGC, Shri T.N. Chaturvedi, former Governor of Kerala and Karnataka, Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma, President NISA, Professor Kiran Seth (IIT), Padmashree Awardee and founder SPIC MACAY, Dr. Suman Doonga, Director, Media SPIC MACAY and Dr. Priyadarshi Nayak, President CED graced the occasion. WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS

SPIC MACAY

Under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, DPS Noida organised a Mohiniattam dance recital by Dr. Deepti

Omchary Bhalla on 13th September, 2019. Ms. Jaya Pathak along with eight students from

classes VI-VIII of Cambridge School, Noida attended the programme. It was an enriching

experience for the students who were introduced to the nuances of this dance form.

HINDI DIVAS

A special assembly on account of Hindi Divas was organized by the students of Cambridge

School, Noida on 13th September; 2019 in the Roma Deb Auditorium. The assembly started with a

prayer, followed by a talk and a poem recitation by the Hindi teacher Ms. Richa Sharma. A power

point presentation on the importance of Hindi was shown. Students also presented the thought for

the day, songs and poems. The efforts of the students and their participation was wholeheartedly

appreciated.

CAPACITY BUILDING FOR TEACHERS

CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP IN BUSINESS STUDIES A workshop was conducted at DPS, Greater Noida on 3rd and 4thSeptember, 2019 by Ms.

Saudamini Arvind. The workshop covered a discussion on changes in the latest syllabus in

Business Studies. The teachers shared innovative teaching practices and also explained some

difficult concepts through role-play. The teachers were asked to make MCQ and application based

questions, which were discussed in the workshop. Support matter on Business environment was

also provided. It was an informative session attended by Ms. Preeti Sharma and Ms. Shruti Khatri

from Cambridge School, Noida.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME IN ACCOUNTANCY An orientation programme was conducted by Prof D K Goel at DPS Ghaziabad on 7thSeptember,

2019. The programme covered a discussion on changes in the latest syllabus and exam pattern,

marking schemes and the proposed exam paper for 2020.

A booklet was prepared by Prof. D. K. Goel comprising important questions taken from five zones

of CBSE papers (2018-19), which were discussed and solved by teachers during the programme.

It was an enriching experience for Ms. Shruti Khatri of Cambridge School, Noida who attended the

programme.

MATHS THEATRE Mr Vivek Singh along with Ms Sangeeta Das attended a Maths Theatre on Comparing Quantities

in Cambridge School, Greater Noida on 7th September, 2019. The concept of Comparing

Quantities was explained thoroughly by the students through the theatre presentation.

WRITING WORKSHOP

A one day workshop was organised by Oxford University press on 7th September, 2019 at

Cambridge School, Noida, Junior wing to improve the capability, capacity, productivity and

performance of pre-primary teachers. The workshop was attended by Ms. Pragati Sharma and Ms.

Sobia Khan from the English Department of the senior wing. The resource person for the day was

Ms. Anahita Lee who conducted a session on the activities that can be used by the teachers to

engage learners in the classroom and improve their writing skills. Through these activities, the

resource person tried to emphasize that by encouraging learners to get physically and mentally

involved in the process, the students will learn and retain information. It will also help them to be

independently inquisitive, think critically and learn from their own experience. It was a great

learning experience as it helped the teachers to understand how learning can be a joyful

experience for the learners.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME IN MATHS

A capacity building programme on Mathematics was conducted by Centre of Excellence

Dehradun, CBSE on 12th September, 2019 at Pragyan Public School, Jewar G.B Nagar, U.P on

the topic Joyful Teaching and Learning Mathematics. The resource persons were Ms. Ishita

Mukherjee and Ms. Praveen Ralhan

Ms. Vasundhara Kaushik and Mr. Zubair Ahmad from Cambridge School, Noida attended the

programme. The objective of the programme was to appreciate the beauty of Mathematics and to

connect the subject with day to day activities. Apart from the presentations a few activities were

conducted on Fractions, Integers, Triangles and Patterns. Teachers were asked to make use of

innovative teaching strategies for joyful learning. A certificate of participation was given to all the

teachers and the workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Pragyan School.

ECONOMICS PRESENTATION

The Economics Department of Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri organised a presentation on

Understanding Market Form on 13thSeptember, 2019. The presentation included main market

forms, perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly. The presentation

was attended by Ms Ankini Dhall and Ms Puneet Kaur from Cambridge School, Noida.

DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY

A session was conducted for the teachers on Dance Movement Therapy Activities for Well-

being in two batches spanning over two days by the School Counsellor, Ms. Garima Seth on 16th

and 17th September 2019 at Cambridge School, Noida. The session focused on introducing

dance-Movement Therapy to the teachers as well as enhancing their physical and psychological

well-being. The activities helped in developing personal movement language repertoire and

improving communication and team-building among the teachers. Verbal processing was done

after each activity for gaining meaningful insights from the process. The feedback received was

very positive and it helped teachers to find ways to look after their own well-being which then

transcends onto the classrooms.

Dance Therapy

WORKSHOP ON MINDFULNESS

Ms. Promila Garyali, Ms. Neelam Sharma and Mr. Varun Jha from Cambridge School, Noida

attended a workshop on Mindfulness conducted by Mr. Abhay at Manav Rachna International

School, Noida on 17th September 2019. The workshop focussed on Being Mindful to

Mindfulness Meditation. It was an interactive session which involved many activities including

meditation in order to help us understand the benefits of being mindful in all spheres of life. The

focus was on living in the present and to relieve the brain of all stresses in order to tackle day to

day situations and lead a balanced life.

Workshop activities

CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRRAMME IN SOCIAL SCIENCE

On 23rd and 24th September, 2019, Ms. Kusum Lata (TGT, Social Science) attended a Capacity

Building Programme on Social Science, conducted by CBSE in Manav Rachna International

School, Noida. The resource person was Mr. Dhiraj Singh, from Pragyan Sr. Sec. School, Jewar,

Greater Noida. The aim of the programme was to focus on sharing ideas and resources for

improvement in teaching learning process and acquaint Social Science teachers with the new

development and changes in the subject of Social Science and different teaching strategies and

skills for effective transaction of the curriculum. For a successful teaching learning process,

discussion and activities took place on various topics like use of Howard Gardner’s theory of

Multiple Intelligences, Teaching Strategies for Each Intelligence, Different Methods of teaching

Social Science, Use of Map in the teaching of social science and understanding Bloom’s

Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. It was a useful and enriching programme.
