Thi Thu Phuong Luong (Chili) Hanoi, Vietnam Studied: ELPP then Master’s Qualifying Programme in Business, Finance & Management Now studying: MSc Finance Before joining my MSc Finance degree, I feel the ELPP and MQP courses helped me a lot to improve my speaking, vocabulary and confidence during. Each week, my personal tutor made sure I was making good progress and if I ever had any problems then he was on hand to discuss them and help me. I had originally thought about going to Florida, USA, to study my Master’s, after graduating in Automatic Control from Hanoi University of Technology, but the UK was a more economical and attractive option with only one year needed to complete my postgraduate degree. The opportunity to do a 12-week internship as part of my MSc at Coventry instead of a dissertation was also really appealing and I think this will be very useful for me when I return to Vietnam to find a good job.
Emrah Ucar Istanbul, Turkey Studied: UFP Engineering Pathway Now studying: BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering “I would recommend this course for any international student planning to do a degree. My Maths and Physics teachers helped me build the knowledge and confidence in these key subjects for my engineering degree. I’m really happy on my degree course and I use the knowledge and skills I gained while studying at FoundationCampus every day.” Emrah moved to FoundationCampus at London South Bank from another university’s foundation course as he knew it wasn’t right for him. All the staff at FoundationCampus were really friendly and helped him settle in quickly. Emrah feels he really benefited from the IELTS preparation classes and was really good preparation for his university studies.

Master’s Foundation “Compared to my classmates who have started the Master’s
degree with me without doing the Master’s Foundation
Programme, I think I am much better able to manage my time
and cope with the course thanks to the focus on time
management skills and research methodology.
Thinking outside the box, sourcing and referencing are all
invaluable skills and techniques which I developed on the
preparation programme and I feel much better equipped to
be successful on my Master’s.”

Olga Kurovska Kiev, Ukraine Studying: UFP Business Offers include: King’s College London and Queen Mary, University of London for Business Management I really like London. It’s such a cosmopolitan city and I want to stay here in the future. The facilities at London FoundationCampus are outstanding. We have access to the Birkbeck library, which gives me plenty of space to study as well as a place to go during my spare time. We can also use the University of London Union and their fantastic sports facilities! I have been trained as a Student Ambassador at London FoundationCampus, which involves helping new students to settle in London when they first arrive and is great experience. My teamwork skills have really improved thanks to this and through frequent group work during English and the Personal Development Planning classes.
