    y -Students should each be given a copy of some comicstrips.

    y -The teacher tells the students that they will bereading these comics.

    y - The teacher t asks the students a few leadingquestions to activate prior knowledge.

    y The students then do a quick reading of the strips to

    get a basic idea of the contents.y -The teacher will then ask volunteer students the

    students to tell what he/she had said.

    Using Comic Strips for CharacterDescriptions

    Process-The teacher will give each student a copy of the some comicstreeps.

    -Ask the students leading questions to activate priorknowledge about character traits and physicaldescriptions.

    -The students then do a quick reading of the strips to get abasic idea of the content.

    - Then ask the students to tell you what they think of eachcharacter. Asking questions such as:

    Who do you like?

    How would you describe character X?

    _Students then write down a list of the characters in thestrips and a list of the descriptive adjectives

    can ask and answer these or similar questions:

    Who is your favorite character? Why? Who do you dislike? Why?

    Who is the funniest?

    Which character are you similar to?

    Which character is similar to someone you know?Once they have completed the discussion, the students

    can practice using the adjectives to write descriptionsof themselves and their family

    members.
