    CALL FOR APPLICANTS

    Youth Training on Basic Human Rights, Gender and Women Rights

    June 4-6, 2013,Date: 2013. Venue: Hope Center, Savar

    Organized by: Kapaeeng FoundationSupported by: UN Women & ILO

    Deadline for Application: 25 May 2013

    Kapaeeng Foundation is a Human Rights Organization for Indigenous Peoples of Bangladesh. It is calling for

    applications for Basic Human Rights, Gender and Women Rights training including UN Mechanisms and

    Procedures relating to Indigenous Peoples. This training will take place at Hope centre, Savar in Dhaka on 4-6

    June, 2013. Training will focus more on theoretical and practical knowledge on basic concept on human rights,

    Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), United Nations Declaration on Rights of Indigenous Peoples

    (UNDRIP), ILO Convention 107 &169, CHT Accord, National Women Development Policy, International

    Covenant on Civil and Political Rights(ICCPR), International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural

    Rights(ICESCR), Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), CSW,

    human rights documentation and advocacy.

    Program Aims and objectives

    The main aims and objectives of this workshop are as follows-

    To raise awareness and build capacity of indigenous youths on basic human rights and relevant nationaland international standards regarding human rights as well as indigenous peoples rights,

    To raise awareness and build capacity of indigenous youths on womens rights as well as to developstrategies to prevent violence against indigenous women across the Bangladesh.

    Eligibility

    Indigenous youth activists, University indigenous students, indigenous women activists working in Indigenous

    Peoples Organizations (IPOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) across the country who have long

    term commitment to work on indigenous peoples rights are encouraged to apply for this program.

    Application Requirements

    1. An Application to Coordinator of Kapaeeng Foundation (letter of motivation: maximum 2 pages, highlighting

    your interest in this particular issue and how you plan to use the learning from the workshop in everyday life.)

    2. A Curriculum Vitae with a refereesname and contact detail

    HOW TO APPLY:

    Application requirements should be submitted to Coordinator, Kapaeeng Foundation,

    [email protected]. All applications must be received by Kapaeeng Foundation by the 25May

    2013.

    Applications will be acknowledged on receipt. Successful candidates will be informed individually via e-mail on

    28 May, 2013.

    TRAINING EXPENSES:

    All expenses of training programme including travel costs, accommodation, foods and resource materials of

    the participants will be covered by Kapaeeng Foundation.
