CHAIR’S MESSAGE:

We have a great training conference available to you this year! When I reflect on the past 20 years that I have been active on the P3S Committee, I realize that the training and connections I’ve obtained

through the Committee and the Annual P3S Conference have significantly contributed to my growth and success in the environmental protection field. I am sure many “P3S veterans” have shared this experience. In keeping with P3S Committee tradition, this year’s Conference is designed to be a high-quality, high-value event offering essential training in a forum that facilitates networking with other professionals in the field. The Conference is being held in the beautiful Napa Valley at the Napa Valley Marriott. The Marriott prides itself on providing exemplary service both for conference events and guests of the hotel. Scheduled training sessions will cover topics to benefit all attendees, from entry-level field staff to experienced managers, and the signature event at Artesa Winery will offer valuable opportunities to connect with peers from throughout the industry. You’ll also be able to view exhibits and meet leading vendors of equipment and services. All we need to make this event a complete success is you! Join us in Napa to take advantage of this tremendous professional development opportunity, to receive valuable training, and to enjoy making new friendships and connections that will last for years to come. I look forward to seeing you in Napa!

– Tim Potter, Chair, P3S Committee

LuNCHEON SPEAKERS:

The Awards Subcommittee will present the Facility of the Year Awards during MONdAY’s luncheon. Award winners from Northern and Southern California will be honored for their commitment to environmental protection and resource conservation. Come hear about how these leaders in their industries adopt innovative

pollution prevention strategies into their business strategies. Committee members’ commitment will also be honored when the Silver Cover award winners are announced. The Order of the Silver Cover recognizes sustained, exemplary service of P3S Committee members.

TUESdAY’s lunch will feature John Gross with Goldstreet Designs who will show us how to “Make Wastewater and Stormwater…Sexy”. Goldstreet Designs is a communications consulting firm serving utilities from across the country in how to effectively reach targeted audiences with technical messages.

Nancy Woo, Acting Director of Water Division of US EPA Region 9 will highlight our luncheon on WEdNESdAY. Nancy will provide valuable information on the status of EPA’s national and regional initiatives, and what priorities are on the horizon for our industry. Don’t miss this chance to hear directly from the source.
