Objective:

To learn to use web-based multimedia and text resources in the classroom

California Streaming

1. Login using PUSD email and password of media

2. Navigate site: a. Navigate to tabs: home, video, audio, images, print research, podcasts click on tab to search for just that media b. Search all media by entering search on home page (Can also search one area by clicking on downward arrow by search field) c. Left side :Browse : subject, grade level, state correlations, video test prep

3. Browse media: a. Whole movie & segments: segments are key concepts, and research shows that most effective use of video is a short clip, and have kids focused on what to do. b. Download to local computer, instead of stream when sharing with students. c. To download on a Mac – ctrl-click, save target as or save image as

4. Create a Playlist (organize by subject or topic): a. Add content to the playlist

2. Learn to browse through encyclopedias, dictionary and atlas a. Search through encyclopedia's individually, or use the Find It Fast b. Learn about the individual encyclopedias and what they have to offer c. Learn where to find multimedia components for teaching and learning
