The new Automated Waitlist System moved
10,563 students from waitlists to scheduled
classes the first month of operation. Simplifying
the procedure saved thousands of student trips
to departments and hundreds of staff hours
transaction time.

• UCSD received over 43,000 applications for fall 2006 admission (the second highest application rate in the University of California system and possibly in the nation).
• The average high school GPA of admitted freshmen for fall 2006 was 4.04 and average SAT Reasoning score was 627, 664 and 636 respectively for Critical Reasoning, Math and Writing.
