On the Go!

We just had our staff calendar planning meeting this week. It was so exciting to hear what all has been planned for this summer. There is so much that will be going on right here in Prattville and amazing things going on all over the place!

As you know, our youth choir, The Genesis Singers, are headed out on their tour on Saturday. Their travels will take them to Richmond, VA, Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. We have mission trips planned to Nicaragua (two different trips), Hinton Rural Life Center (our youth group team), and Red Bird Missionary Conference (in the Appalachian mountains). A group will also be going to Lake Junaluska to learn more about how to develop and sustain more effective adult ministries. In fact, on almost every day in July someone from our church will be going out to serve!

Lots is going on here too! VBS is just a few weeks away, and the youth group has several local mission projects lined up so that students can be serving all summer long right here in Prattville. The church garden is growing well, and Drew and his crew will be meeting this summer to tend the garden as they also study what God’s word says about caring for creation. As you’ve already heard, we are also organizing small groups that will meet throughout the summer for study and fellowship.

As you can see, FUMC is on the go! I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this church and be in ministry with you. I also want to mention that Drew and I have planned some really great sermon series for Sunday mornings during the summer. You’ll be hearing about those soon. FUMC is a great place to come to, and a great place from which to be sent out!

In Christ,

Rob
