Calendar Stompbox Academy offers three semesters of music instruction per school year (fall, spring, and summer). We follow the public school calendar, but if your child attends private school, we can arrange a different situation for your family. We also follow the general calendar with major holidays and these are the days Stompbox Academy will be closed for business: Semester 1: September 1 (Labor Day) September 24 (Rosh Hashanah) October 3 (Yom Kippur) November 27 – 30 (Thanksgiving weekend) December 24 – January 1 (Holiday Break) Semester 2: February 15 - 22 (Winter Break) April 5 (Easter Sunday) April 19-26 (Easter weekend/Spring Break) May 25 (Memorial Day) Summer Semester July 4 With the various holidays figured into our schedule, the total number of days for any given day of classes will vary during the semester and pricing will be structured accordingly.

Cancelations and Make-Ups For private, one-on-one instruction in all classes during semester one and two, each student will be granted one absence per semester, granting them a make-up at the conclusion of each semester. If for any reason, including illness, a student cancels more than one class in a semester credit for the missed class (or classes) will be forfeited. Exceptions will be made for religious holidays and conflicting public/private school calendars. If enrolled in a group/ensemble class there are no make-up classes. Missed classes (if any) are forfeited. There are no make-up classes in any of the programs during summer semester. Missed classes (if any) are forfeited. If a cancelation must happen for any class, all cancelations must be made with at least 24 hours advance notice. Lessons cancelled without at least 24 hours notice are not eligible for make-up credit with credit for the missed class (or classes) being forfeited. Classes can be canceled via e-mail [director@stompboxacademy.com] or telephone [781-609-ROCK]. If your teacher misses a class, a make-up credit will be granted.

Inclement Weather In the case of inclement weather, Stompbox Academy will notify each student if classes will be taking place or not. We do not follow school cancelations so please do not assume classes are canceled if school is not in session for the day. During the winter months, please make sure to leave enough safe clearance on walkways and doorsteps for your teacher. If an alternate entrance will be a safer method of entering your home, please call or e-mail our office.

Tardiness Students are expected to be ready for their class on time. If a teacher arrives for a class and the student is not home, the teacher will wait for 10 minutes beyond the start of the scheduled class time. After 10 minutes the teacher will leave. No class credit will be granted. If the student does arrive late, teachers are not expected to make up the lost time and the class will end at the regularly scheduled time.

Payments Class payment is due by the first class of each semester. Payment can be given to the teacher via check (with all checks being made out to David Moorhead; please place in an envelope). There will be a $12 fee for late payments and a $25.00 fee for returned checks.

Reenrollment If you would like to keep your class day and time for the spring semester, the deadline for reenrollment is Friday, December 12th. After the deadline has passed, admission is open to all incoming students and you will forfeit your spot.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy Students can withdraw from the program up to three classes into each semester. If you do withdraw within this three class period you will receive a prorated refund for all completed classes to withdrawal date. Withdrawal from the program after three lessons but prior to the end of the semester is subject to full, non-refundable payment.

Privacy Policy All information submitted to Stompbox Academy via telephone conversation or email will be used by Stompbox Academy exclusively and will never be leased, sold, rented or shared to any third party.

Referrals Our business is run mainly through word of mouth. If you are satisfied with your experience, please refer us to your friends! You will receive $50 off your next invoice for every family you refer who successfully signs up with us (each new family must stay enrolled past the three week opt-out period and a maximum referral bonus will not exceed $250).
