MAT 197 COURSE CONTENT

Chapter 5: Integration (Section 5)

Chapter 6: Application of Integration (Sections 1-8)

Chapter 7: Integration Techniques (Sections 1-8, except 5 )

Chapter 8: Sequences and Infinite Series (Section 1-6)

Chapter 9: Power Series (Sections 1-4)

Chapter 10: Parametric and Polar Curves (Sections 1-4)

Chapter 11: Vectors and Vector-Valued Functions (Sections 5-9)

Missed Test or Final Exam

1. Students who cannot be present for a test or the final exam because of illness must contact the First Year

Common Engineering Office prior to the time of the evaluation or within 1 week. They must also submit

a UT-approved medical form filled out by their doctor stating, among other things, that they were too ill

to attend school on the day of the test and giving the expected duration of their illness (blank forms can be

obtained from the Engineering office or online). Besides illness, only very serious reasons, properly documented,

can be considered as valid excuses for missing an evaluation. For more information on this consult the Calendar.

2. There is no make-up test, but the portion of the course mark corresponding to the test will be transferred to

the final exam with valid documentation such as medical notes.

3. If proper documentation is not received within reasonable time, the mark for the missed test/exam will be

ZERO.

Tutorial Procedure / Regulations

1. Each student must attend the tutorial section indicated in his/her individual timetable. Do not attend a

different tutorial section; if you do, your name will not appear on the class list. Please check your schedule

carefully to be certain that you are going to the correct tutorial section.

2. Although no homework assignments will be collected, a list of recommended practice questions is given at the

end of this outline. You must solve these questions if you wish to master the course material.

3. Students will solve tutorial questions in groups during the tutorials. Your TAs will supervise and help you

finish solving the questions.
