SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES

4.1. Description of first aid measures

EYES: Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Rinse cautiously with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

SKIN: Remove contaminated clothes; wash off any skin contaminations with soap and water. Launder contaminated clothes before re-use.

INGESTION: Get prompt qualified medical attention. If conscious, give 1-2 glasses of water with absorbent carbon.

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. Keep in warm and at rest. Give oxygen or artificial aspiration if needed. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.

FIRST AID MEASURES: absorbent carbon, saline purge.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

EYES: Could cause irritant or burn effects to the eyes. SKIN: Could cause irritant effects to the skin. No delayed symptoms after washing contaminated skin.

INGESTION: May cause nausea. May cause GI tract irritation. INHALATION: Dust may cause irritation to mucous membranes and respiratory system.

4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

No special antidotes. If case of ingestion wash mouth with water and give plenty water to drink. Get medical

attention if needed.

SECTION 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

5.1. Extinguishing media This product is a nonflammable substance. However, hazardous decomposition and combustion products may be

formed in a fire situation. Cool exposed containers with water spray to prevent overheating. Extinguish fire using

agent suitable for type of surrounding fire and/or chemicals. Do not use water directly on material. Heat is generated when product mixed with water.

5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

No special hazards.

5.3. Advice for firefighters

Respiratory and eye protection are required for fire fighting personnel. Avoid breathing corrosive vapors.

SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wearing the appropriate personnel protective equipment designated in Section 8, move the container to a containment area or rotate the container so that the opening is above the liquid level.

6.2. Environmental precautions

WATER SPILL: Use appropriate containment to avoid runoff or release to sewer or waterways.

LAND SPILL: Use appropriate containment to avoid runoff or release to ground.

6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up Construct temporary dikes of dirt, sand, or any appropriate readily available material to prevent spreading of the

material. Wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment designated in Section 8, close or cap valves and/or block or plug hole in leaking container and transfer to another container. Remove containers with disposal

from release area.

6.4. Reference to other sections

For addition information see section 13.

SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

7.1. Precautions for safe handling

Avoid skin and eye contact and breathing dusts. Use proper protective and respiratory equipment. Not to eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Launder contaminated clothing before re-use.

Ventilate area. Sweep or vacuum; do not create dust; place in a dry container for disposal. Clean spill area with water.

7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Keep container closed when not in use. Keep away from incompatible

materials. Protect from atmospheric moisture.

7.3. Specific end use(s) No specific end uses.

SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/ PERSONAL PROTECTION

8.1. Control parameters National occupational exposure limit values: maximum allowable concentration in the air of the working zone – 2 mg/m, aerosol, 3 class of hazard 8.2. Exposure controls ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Where environmental controls are lacking or in enclosed spaces use a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator for dust/fumes. Provide local exhaust ventilation system. Eye wash station and safety shower should be provided within the immediate work area for emergency use. EXPOSURE LIMITS: No occupational exposure limits established by OSHA/ACGIH/NIOSH. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: EYES: Wear safety glasses with splash shields or safety goggles/shield. BODY: Wear appropriate protective (impervious) clothing. Leather work boots and/or leather products will dehydrate with resultant shrinkage and possible destruction. RESPIRATORY: A respirator is not indicated under normal operating conditions. Use of a NIOSH approved respirator should be based upon the presence of nuisance dust. When warranted, use a face mask particulate respirator with particulate respirator with a NIOSH N95 rating. HANDS AND FEET: Wear appropriate rubber gloves and non-leather protective boots. WORK HYGIENIC PRACTICES: Use reasonable care in handling this product. Wash hands after use and before eating.

12.2. Persistence and degradability Test not available as product is inorganic.

12.3. Bioaccumulative potential Product is not biodegrade or accumulate.

12.4. Mobility in soil

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted as in water; calcium chloride is

dissociated into calcium and chloride ions and chloride ions will not adsorb on particulate matter. The calcium ion may bind to particulate matter or may form stable inorganic salts with sulphate and carbonate ions, but calcium is

naturally present in soil. Therefore, exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

12.5. Results of PBT and vPvB assessment According to Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation 1907/2006/EC inorganic substances do not need to be subjected

to a PBT assessment.

12.6. Other adverse effects

None identified.

SECTION 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

13.1. Waste treatment methods

Observe federal, state, and local regulations when disposing of this substance. DISPOSAL METHOD: Dispose of waste at an appropriate waste disposal facility according to current applicable

laws and regulations. FOR LARGE SPILLS: Contain material according to section 6.

PRODUCT DISPOSAL: Dispose of at a supervised incineration facility or an appropriate waste disposal facility

according to current applicable laws and regulations and product characteristics at time of disposal. EMPTY CONTAINER: Rinse drums with a suitable solvent and steam to remove vapors before disposal or reuse in

accordance with applicable regulations
