• Out of area students need additional criteria–Higher Eligibility Index using GPA and Test

• Music majors – auditions required • Nursing majors must have RN completed

Appeals• Applicants are not encouraged to appeal for admission, because

appeals are seldom granted, but in the event that an applicant insists on appealing a late or a denied application they can:

• Fax or mail a letter of appeal addressed to the Special Admissions Committee at California State University, Northridge. The appeal letter should contain reasons as to why they believe an exception should be made for their late application or denial.

• The appeal will be reviewed by the Special Admissions Committee and the response/decision with detailed information concerning the appeal will be mailed to the applicant.

Communication• Applicants will receive a letter informing them that

we’ve received their application• Letter will include a user name and password with

instructions to activate their MyNorthridge portal account

• Applicants should activate the MyNorthridge portal as soon as possible

• Admitted students will receive an Admissions packet with information about registration, placement tests, and ‘what’s next’

• All other information will come through the MyNorthridge portal and campus email

Transcripts• Applicants should submit official transcripts after Fall

semester grades for their senior year are posted

• Freshmen are admitted on self reported information

• Failure to submit transcripts can delay admission

• Final transcript must be submitted once graduation date is posted. Failure to do so will delay Financial Aid disbursement.
