Welcome to Café TelegraphAs you look around we felt you should know a little History on the Café and the pride that went into its Construction transformation and décor. All of the beautiful Cedar surrounding the walls inside and outside, some of the tables, came from a Category 2 Tornado that ripped through Lake Tishomingo in Spring 2010. The Tiger Wood flooring that accents the walls in the bar area came out of a shipment that was submerged in downtown Nashville, Tennessee after a 2010 Flood ravaged the city.

The Bar’s rail you rest your arms on came from a Sycamore tree downed at Matt’s Grandma & Grandpa Sutterer’s farm in Perryville. The granite at the hostess stand, server area by our back dining room and bar area came from “The Hill.” It was in the process of being sent to the landfill when it was recovered.

The Diamond shape glass windows came from the top of The St. Louis Arena’s two towers (also known as The Checkerdome from 1977 to 1983, and popularly referred to as “The Barn”). And if you’re fortunate enough to sit in one of our booths along the wall, just know

you are resting your elbows, forearms, or hands on the Old Douglas Fir beams that once gave the “Fish Scale” appearance to the ceiling of the Old Barn.

In 2012 the Community of Lemay awarded the Café with a “Beautification Award,” for the exterior of the building. Overall, 75% of our materials used for the interior renovation were recycled.
