C’EST MAGNIFIQUE!
Left Bank Paris!!! 10 DAYS IN A GORGEOUS APARTMENT
Donated by Marian & Richard Bott. Minimum bid $3,000.
The apartment is in a classic 19th century hotel particulier in the 7th
arrondissement of central Paris (Rive Gauche/Left Bank). A few steps
from the Seine and five minutes from the Musee d'Orsay, it is the
perfect base of operations to explore the City of Light or to start a
longer European vacation.
The apartment has two master suites and one double bedroom, all
with ensuite baths. It is perfect for one or two couples, or one couple
with responsible children. (Can also work for three couples, keeping
in mind that the third bedroom has a queen-sized sofa bed.
Alternatively, the third couple can use a separate, large studio
apartment two floors away.)
The main apartment is about 2,000 square feet, including a grand
salon, library/TV room, dining room and eat-in kitchen. The
apartment has wireless high-speed internet, cable TV with US news
channels, free international telephone service and an extensive
collection of French and European travel guide books. It is not air
conditioned but is generally comfortable even during the summer
due to one foot thick walls and effective circulating fans!

MAIS OUI!….POUR VOUS!.....PARIS!!!
An Exclusive Villa in Tuscany
has been offered once again by Lesley & Frank Yeary.
Only two weeks are available for auction, Sunday to Sunday, on these dates:
Thanksgiving Week Nov. 23-30 or New Years Week Dec. 28-Jan 4
Casale San Giuseppe is a spectacular vacation opportunity for a large family
or group of friends. It has typically rented for $20,000 per week! RPC's Live
Auction minimum bid begins at $3,500. So your opportunities are unique.
Casale San Giuseppe would be exclusively yours for the week. It sleeps 10-14 and includes a full time concierge, guest house & private pool.
You can cook and eat in, or many fine restaurants are nearby. The Villa is 1 hour south of Florence, an easy day trip.
Please take the photo tour on Casale San Giuseppe's website.

The winning bidder must also pay for cleaning (about E500 or $400) and other
charges incurred, such as renting a car or bicycles, hiring a chef, childcare,
horseback riding, cooking lessons, pottery classes, villa pre-stocking,
and tours or excursions, some of which will require advance notice.
Lesley adds this idea: “The concierge will help one acquire a taqino (or
turkey) and will come and light the forno (pizza oven) to cook it in ... I think
they have gotten quite good at this over the years .. the first year involves a
long story and a very undercooked turkey…”
Sound like fun?
Casale San Giuseppe awaits some very fortunate bidder.
More pix and comments from Lesley:
Casale San Guiseppe is an exquisite farmhouse renovation on the exclusive Castello di Casole resort development. The estate property features a main hotel and also includes other similar private farmhouses. San Guiseppe is a very short walk (maybe 500 meters) to the main hotel. We have been there both in the Thanksgiving week and winter break week and it is lovely. There can be snow although we only had a dusting the year we were there in December. We did mostly day trips to Florence (an hour away), Sienna and San Giminiano (both about half hour away) and Pisa (2 hours away). At Thanksgiving the weather was crisp, in the 40's and 50's, but there weren't any crowds. And there is a hot tub which got a fair amount of use. The private pool at San Guiseppe was open but not heated ... the kids jumped in and swam a bit.
The hotel itself has many amenities. Guests at Casale San Guiseppe can book spa treatments and restaurant reservations, and can also use the pool and spa facilities (although I don't believe that pool is heated either). There is a gym that guests can use, still possibly in another farmhouse that one would either take a run to or drive from San Guiseppe, but they may have moved it to the hotel. Since Italians don't celebrate Thanksgiving, everything is open that entire week, and for the New Years week most tourist things are closed only on New Year's Day. The hotel spa and restaurants will probably still be open. This luxury resort has recaptured the essence of Tuscany in marvelous ways. Casale San Guiseppe, with its ability to house 10-14 people in Tuscan charm and beauty, and yours alone for your stay, will make a memorable vacation experience for any gathering of family and/or friends.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

boasts a third story large open-air tower perfect for starting & ending every day. Off the
front are views of the ocean with terrific sunsets & off the back beautiful views of the
sunrise over multiple layers of mountains. The finca’s entrance is lined with coconut
palm trees & the fruit orchard includes mango, orange, sour orange, lemon, grapefruit,

They each have queen size beds, closets, large private bathrooms and enjoy a full view

master bedrooms - this can be used for additional sleeping quarters if necessary. Three

hire cooking help if desired.
Weather: - Dry Season - 2nd week in November to 2nd week in May
- Green Season - May to August
- Rainy Season - September to early November
Description of Area: Playa Venado & the Venado Estuary are a 20 minute walk from
the property. The main beach is a mile long and very secluded. There is a rocky area
that provides great rock pool exploration and small rock pools for playing. To the left is a
great beach for swimming and surfing.
Junquillal: (15 minutes) 2 Miles long, the beaches have won the coveted Bandura
Azul Award for many years. In Junquillal there is an excellent selection of restaurants.
At night during the season you can see Ridley and green turtles. There is an active
local turtle protection group that welcomes involvement. The village of Junquilla
remains unspoiled and remote, a haven for those looking to spend their precious leisure
time on the road less travelled. Local Costa Ricans (Ticos) as well as international ex-
patriots welcome travelers with a warm hospitality seldom experienced in the whirlwind
of the real world.
Best Seasons: Costa Rica has two seasons, the dry season and the rainy season.
Each has benefits. The beginning of the dry season in December/January and the
beginning of the rainy season in May are preferred. July is also nice as the rainy
season takes a little break.
Dry Season: December - April
During the dry season it is noticeably hotter (highs around 95F), the vegetation
becomes tan and some of the trees lose their leaves but the dry weather makes for a
very clear night sky with infinite stars. It is also the season for birds, which you can see
easier with the lack of vegetation. Every day is a blue sky day and rain is very rare.
Rainy Season: May-November
During the rainy season expect a daily shower in the afternoon. Usually the rain doesn't
last too long and is nice to cool off in the heat of the day, however in June, September
and October it can get rather stormy (raining throughout most of the day. By the end of
the rainy season transportation is definitely effected (dirt roads will be very bumpy and
some roads will be closed). It is a little cooler (highs around 87), the vegetation is very
lush and vibrant green. The clouds make for outstanding sunrises/sunsets.
Cleaning: We have a cleaning service upon request for $25/day.
Kids: Yes, this is the perfect place for a large family vacation. There are plenty of
activities and exploring to keep kids occupied.
Pets: Yes. We actually have two friendly dogs of our own. When people rent the house
they choose if they stay at our house or at our neighbors house.
Special Needs: Our house is in the middle of a rural village in Costa Rica, therefor it is
difficult to cater to many special needs. Dirt roads can be VERY bumpy. The house has
many stairs and isn't very handicapped accessible.
Activities: Swimming (beaches or pool), snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, horseback
riding, ATV, kayaking in the estuary or ocean white water rafting, boogie boarding,
mountain bike riding, exploring the property, picking fruit from our trees scattered along
the property, bird-watching and watching local soccer games are all either on the
property or within a half an hour drive.
Surfing: World class breaks can be found at Playa Negra, Avellanas, and Marbella,
which are all within 20 minutes of the house. Both Playa Negra and Avellanas rent surf
boards and have surf schools.
Attractions in the Arenal Area: Rain forests, canopy tours (zip-lining through the
ceiling of rainforests), canyoning (repelling down a series of waterfalls), white water
rafting, hot springs.
Festivals: Usually the festivals and rodeos start when the rain stops. They definitely
concentrate around Christmas time. Guanacaste's Annexation Day is on July 25th.
Rodeos also are scattered throughout the year with no definite schedule.
Transportation: Air - It is best to fly into Liberia Airport. It is a smaller and more laid
back airport that is just over an hours drive from our house. Flying into the capital, San
Jose, is not preferred. It is busier and the 4 hour drive to the house can be backed up
with traffic and is very difficult to navigate at night.
Car - A rental car with 4WD is a must. The road is paved the majority of the way
to the house leaving the last 15min a dirt road. In the dry season the roads are generally
well-kept. During rainy season, erosion carves some larger bumps.
Community Involvement: One thing that is exceptional is our community involvement in Venado. A fraction of our rental sales goes to community projects. We have started a recycling center in our town with the help of Hubert Morris from Santa Cruz Recicla. We have donated to our local school. We are hoping to start a local foods market in Venado this November, with help from Matt Rosensteele from Restoring Out Watershed. We did a holiday shoe drive last January and brought down over 300 pairs of shoes to Venado. The shoe drive is being continued throughout the year (facebook.com/TacosParaTicos). And our biggest project is to build an open-air community center. I am currently applying to incorporate a non-profit to facilitate donations and the transportation of donations.
