Term 1 Week 8 19 th March 2020 Caddies Creek PubliC sChool Dear Parents, Attention: This will be a virus-free zone! Firstly, my sincere apologies for last Monday. I opened up the School Interviews site bang on 3pm, but then when we got twenty phone calls in the first couple of minutes I knew something was up. I had mixed up two of the letters in the code that was published last week. I did send out a push through Skoolbag correcting this immediately, and below is the correct code for sure. Once again apologies for the inconvenience. A reminder what you need to do1. Go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au 2. Enter the event code – 6rhuc (this is correct!) 3. You are then asked to enter your email, child’s name etc. 4. You are asked to choose a teacher 5. You are asked to choose an available time 6. Bookings will close at 12pm, Friday, 27 th March I have some staffing news to share with you. Mrs Buyruk has been successful in becoming the substantive Deputy Principal at Caddies Creek! We are very happy for Mrs Buyruk, but as you would imagine, this causes a bit of a flow-on effect throughout the school. The great news is that, for the time being, Mr Mitchell will stay with his class. We already have a 4M, so maybe we can just leave it as 4Brilliant. So now we have a vacancy for an Assistant Principal position, which will be advertised and interviewed for next term. The safety of students at Caddies Creek is our highest priority. Every morning there is supervision by staff in the playground from 8:30am (when the bell goes). If students arrive at school a few minutes prior to that (and we totally understand this), they are asked to sit quietly before supervision commences. What concerns us is the handful of students who arrive a significantly long period of time before supervision. If you need to drop your child off at school up to an hour before supervision commences, please contact Jigsaw OOSH. Speaking of safety - now I must emphasise it is the tiny minority, but I was exasperated last week at Currawong St when I saw a parent double park on the OTHER side and call her child across the road, which of course they dutifully did. How the child was not hit by a car I do not know. Absolutely stunning in their total disregard of the safety of their own child, let alone the dangerous situation created for others through illegally double parking. We all know it can get crazy out there of an afternoon, but as I have said countless times before, at 3:10pm there are plenty of spaces to safely pick up your nearest, dearest and most precious commodity. So nice seeing all the students with their orange accessories for Harmony Day today. We have such a diverse student population from many dozens of different backgrounds, it really warms the heart, especially when you see students like ours getting on so well with each other. I am an “IBM” (Italian by marriage) so I have my own small perspective of how important it is to emphasise the similarities of people rather than the differences. Our Skoolbag app is a great way for parents to receive immediate information. If you don’t already have it on your phone, later in the Chronicle there are instructions as to how to get it. Caddies Creek PubliC sChool

Dear Parents,

Attention: This will be a virus-free zone!

A reminder what you need to do…

I have some staffing news to share with you. P&C News

Notice from CommBank School Banking The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and our people is our first priority. Due to the rapidly developing situation with coronavirus, School Banking has been temporarily paused from 20 March 2020 until the start of Term 2. Please don’t bring your deposit book with your weekly banking into school and we will notify you when banking will recommence.

We are calling for Easter Raffle donations to make up our fabulous hampers & baskets. We are kindly asking that each family donate one small bag of little eggs or Easter chocolate or Easter craft / toys / items to the raffle. All donations can be left in the Easter Box inside the office foyer.

Each student should have received a raffle ticket booklet last week. Please return the ticket stubs and money to the school office by Friday 3rd April, 2020. Please make sure that whoever you sell the tickets to writes their name and number clearly on the stub that is returned to the school.

The Raffle will still be drawn on 6th April in the School Office and the winners will be contacted by phone.

Given the current health concerns we have suspended all P&C meetings for the remainder of Term 1. Therefore at this stage our next P&C meeting will be held on 26th May 2020

Due to the current health concerns & postponing the interrelate sessions. The P&C are currently working with interrelate to secure a date which will likely be held in Term 3, but please bear with us as there are a few schools in the same situation all trying to re book their sessions as well. The Date in term 3 is still to be Advised.
