Bev and Cliff Mason have just arrived home
after their trip up and around Mt Isa in their
caravan.

years young birthday by travelling with
Friends, Lorna, Joan, Mandy and Jan across
the pond on a 14 day trip to and around New
Zealand, commencing on September 29th to
October 14th Jan’s Birthday is 30th
September. Congrats Jan.
You could bring me home a
Kiwi if you like...oops I meant a
Tiki.. ..Tee Hee.
What a magic part of our Country, just ask Gezy
Rozanski, she has just returned
from a 10 day trip to the
Kimberley’s, the over 50’s
Group that she was part of, went
on River Cruises, Bus Trips,
Flights over the mines and
surrounding area. Sounds good
to me.
Have a chat to Gezy. Congratulations to Clare and Ron Clune and Yvonne and Dennis Parsons and Gladys and Peter Rohan for making the big move. Best of luck in your new
surroundings.
P.M. Under attack, a feisty
Macaw pushes the button
at the MBG. You could be
wondering just what that
means, well....Member,
John Howard, also known
to some as P.M. Was
enjoying a trip to the
Maleny Botanic Gardens Bird World recently, when this
impish Macaw thought he could press the button on
John’s shirt and the radio would come on. Well that may
have disappointed Mr Macaw but not Mr Howard, the
MBG is called an unforgettable experience, with exquisite
gardens and exotic feathered Friends. Worth the trip when
next you are wondering where to go for enjoyment.

MEMORIAL DAY 2014
Once again Dave Thommo
Thomson sponsored the Clubs
Memorial day which is to hon-
our past Members who worked
so hard to keep the Club afloat.
This year, Members not only
enjoyed the BBQ but also the
poetry of local, well known and
respected Bush Poet Wally
Finch who recited some of his
poignant and sometimes funny
poems, we were then entertained
by none other than our very own Bowls Member, Macca Merchant,
who sang some great hits and doing them justice, the music and general
atmosphere made for a fun filled afternoon, even caused some movin’
and groovin’on the green.
Did you know that “stressed “spelt
backwards is “Desserts,” so in
future when you are stressed, have
some desserts... SIMPLES.

OUR JULY/ AUGUST VISITORS
Joe and Dot welcomed Sharin Geeves from the
Caboolture Community Action Group in July to
receive a Club donation to the CCA Group from
the wrong bias proceeds. CCA Group assists
residents of Caboolture who are Homeless ,without
funds and food. They supply 400/500 People with
food hampers and children’s lunches and school
needs each week. They serve over 200 emergency
hampers weekly. This is a not for profit Organisa-
tion, they hold BBQ’s at Centenary Lakes Tuesday
night and their Bertha St premises Saturday nights.
So Bowlers just keep up the good work, we know
you are only trying to help these worthwhile
Organisations when you send down the wrong bias.
So Thank you.
A Special Visitor from Victoria popped into the
Club to play 10 ends recently, he is on his way
around Australia in an effort to make it into the
Guiness book of records for playing Bowls at the
most Bowls Clubs, the records standing at present is
700 Clubs in 12 months. Chris Thomas had bowled
at 57 Clubs within a little under 4 weeks, there is
little doubt that he will blitz the record.
He is making the Journey to support
research into Prostate and Breast Cancer.
He played a pretty mean 10 ends against
Thommo while Kevin Marked the match.
Congratulations to Ladies Triples
Winner for 2014.

It is so good to see some of our Members
back on the green after conquering illnesses.
And to others still dealing with various illness
and incapacities we wish you a speedy and
complete recovery.
Did you know? The word “macaroni “ means, Dearest Darling in Italian? So next time you write a letter to your loved one, you can start by saying “Hello Macaroni “. Man who run in front of car get tired. Man who run behind car, get Exhausted. Man who eat many prunes get good run for money. Two silk worms had a race, they ended up in a tie. She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still. Man who scratch butt, should not bite fingernails
Mirth and Stuart are off
to the Birdsville races,
on the bus....odds
are.... they’ll love
it... I bet.
Tee hee
Have you checked out our new office floor. Gosh, Golly its gorgeous. Thank you muchly to those responsible Kevin Appleton, Joe Cowan, John Howard, Tim McInerney and Danny Forte. Now instead of tripping over the old
carpet, we can float over the new floating timber floor. More good news. Members can now polish their bowls for free. Remember don’t put any polish on your bowls be-fore using the polisher.

Now we all know that Blond jokes
about females have been around for
many decades, well, it is indeed time
to turn the tables.
1. A Man is in the bathroom and his
wife shouts “Did you find the sham-
poo? “ He answers “Yes, but not sure
what to do “its for dry hair and I’ve
just wet mine.
2. A Blond man goes to the Vet with
his goldfish. “I think its got epilepsy”
He says. The Vet took a look and said,
“He seems calm enough “ the Blond
Man says “you haven’t taken it out of
the water yet “
Oh my how the World has
changed. ( we are more
accurate today)
A Friend of mine was going to join one
of those internet dating sites, I said
“why not just do what I do and sit out-
side Spec Savers and put your foot out
and trip a Guy before he goes in, He’ll
fall for ya every time” Then He’ll
have his eye on you. Not true, I just
made that up, I might give it a try
though. ED. Tee Hee
To Merv and Lynne Gillis

Anniversary. Life together has just
begun Look forward to the next 25
years of fun.
You
must
take the
good
with the
bad. ED

Spread the Laughter...... Spread the Cheer.... Lets be happy While We’re here
Time to get serious once more. The grim reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a vacuum cleaner...talk about “Dyson with Death “ only the Ladies will understand that little bagless gag. Okay this is just a few lines that I made up, it could make you sick so don’t read while eating O.K.? Lawn Bowls is all about Kitty Reason being...she’s pretty The Men say...its about Jack The Ladies reckon He’s just a sad sack If you believe the Men are right And you just might, its time to Pat Jack on the back and send Kitty To the city...what a pity. This ditty is just ... Sh ...not witty
Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should
But Fathers are just wonderful
In a million different ways.
And they merit loving compliments,
And accolades of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the Family proud of him
And bring them happiness
He’s a Guardian and a Guide
And is always on our side.
Happy Fathers day you wonderful Dads
I give up...this space is yours..... I’m getting back in
the saddle again...much easier
I’ve run out of
time. You will
have to proof read
this yourself.
And just keep the
mistakes to your-
self. I don’ t want
to know about
them o.k?
Welcome to new Sponsors Jocks Garden
edging. Above is a display of some of his
work at my home, unfortunately the photos
don’t really do the job justice. Jock and his
Brother Daryl, who is a concreter did the
edging and driveway. You see, the older I
got, the steeper the front yard became. So
Dave Thomson recommended Jock and Co.
So I gave up the grass and I’ve been stoned
ever since. Who said over 50’s are not Hip.
Really thrilled to bits with the outcome, the
neighbours make positive comments to me.
Great job Jock and Co.,
You too can take the hard work out of the yard
work , save your back from pain if you doing the
mowing or your money if you pay someone else.
Another new Sponsor
is Strategies.
This Company
provides Accounting,
Financial Planning,
Super,
Insurance,
Raising Capital,
Financial Partner for
Businesses and
Families.
