"HOUSTON , WE HAVE A LEADER" : OTHER INVOLVEMENTS

During the Summer of 2016 Noah served as aResident Summer Assistant for CWRU studentswho lived on campus during the summer. Thisposition poses a particular challenge forcommunity building because the students stayingoften do not know other students, are occupiedwith summer classes and research, and manycome and go throughout the summer withresidents changing on a frequent basis. Noahworked hard to build community and awelcoming environment despite these challengesby putting on programs such as geocaching andhikes throughout University Circle, NBAChampionship Watch Parties, and open socials forunderclassmen and upperclassmen to get toknow each other. Additionally, Noah workeddiligently to get to know many of the residents ona personal basis. Although Noah has never hadthe opportunity to be a resident assistant duringthe academic year the position of a summer RAallowed Noah to have a personal impact onresidents and build community in a new anddifferent way from his other involvements.

Noah has been involved with Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity since Spring 2014, working to help charter thenewly-installed Kappa Alpha Chapter in Spring 2015. Noah served as Archon (Chapter President) duringthe year 2016. Balancing communication with a nine-person Executive Council, Advisory Board andNational Headquarters, Noah helped his chapter progress as an organization and character-buildingbrotherhood. Some of his key responsibilities and accomplishments include developing executive-levelstandard operating procedures, instituting transition processes, and achieving the highest chapter-widefraternity GPA both on the CWRU campus and in the Northeast Region of Pi Kappa Phi. As the KappaAlpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi continues to grow and develop, Noah’s contributions will continue toimpact the chapter and its brothers.

PI KAPPA PHI

In March 2016, Noah spent his SpringBreak at Adam Mickiewicz University inPoznań, Poland to take a Invisible Groupsin a New Poland, a social work courseoffered through the Mandel School ofApplied Social Sciences at CWRU. Incollaboration with undergraduatestudents, graduate students and facultyfrom both Cleveland and Poznań, Noahimmersed himself in Polish social policiesand practices regarding disenfranchisedgroups. As a student of History andOrganizational Behavior, Noah was able toconnect historical trends and organizingstrategies to both U.S. and Polishgovernment and nonprofit institutions.

After returning to CWRU, Noah continuedengaging with his colleagues from AMUand MSASS. He has worked with visitingfaculty and students, and most recentlybegan organizing the Cleveland-PoznanConnection, an organization under theCWRU Undergraduate DiversityCollaborative focused on keeping studentsinvolved with the people, institutions andcauses they encountered while on theInvisible Groups trip.

LAND AMONG THE STARS :QUOTES OF SUPPORT

"I'm lucky to be able to call Noah Boksansky my friend. He's awarm and supportive mentor, and a strong role model forthose who know him. I had the pleasure of serving as VicePresident while he was President of our chapter of Pi KappaPhi, and we worked closely together. Although the road wasoften rough, he worked hard to ensure not only that thework was completed, but also that our executive councillooked forward to spending time together. He's impressivelyemotionally intelligent. Noah is not just a model student -he's an absolute treasure of a human being. "

- Ethan Smilg Brother of CWRU PI Kappa Phi

"Positive. Humorous. Determined. Dedicated.

Reliable. Responsible. These are just a few of thewords I would use to describe Noah Boksansky. I hadthe pleasure of working with Noah in severalcapacities, but the two notable ones were onCWRU’s National Residence Hall Honorary executiveboard and on a taskforce charged with restructuringstudent leadership at CWRU. In both involvements,Noah demonstrated excellent leadership,

consistently went above his call of duty, andsupported those around him in anyway he could. Iam extremely proud of the man Noah is today andwas truly blessed to have worked with him over theyears"

- Brittany Chung NRHH President 2015-2016

"Noah has, without a doubt, been one of the mostpositive impacts on our organization that CWRU'sRHA has ever seen. Noah has done so much totransition me into my position on the ExecutiveBoard and has empowered and challenged me tolead even when I felt as though I could not. Throughhis dedication to the residents, Noah continuallystrives for better and brings out the best in all thathe works with. Noah is an inspiration to myself andmany others to whom he has acted as a mentor. It isan honor to know and work with him."

- Cameron Childers RHA VP of Administration and Finance

Noah and I worked as summer RAs, and he was theone who introduced me to RHA and inspired me totake an leadership role. As an RA, Noah is a reliableteammate and is always informed about residentconcerns and needs. We would have discussionsabout campus life and his involvements in RHA andNRHH inspired me to make a difference on campus.Recently, Noah helped me transition to my role asNCC by preparing me with resources, contacts, andencouragements and I know I would not have madethe decision to step up to the NCC position withoutNoah.

- Zoe Yang Summer 2015 RA & RHA NCC

When I think of a campus leader Noah is one of thefirst people to come to mind. He has diligentlyworked to push RHA, NRHH, and everything he isinvolved in to be its best. During his NRHHpresidency he has challenged the organization tobelieve anything is possible by empoweringmembers to take action. However, what I value mostis the mentorship Noah has consistently providedthose around them to help them be their best selves.Noah's mentorship helped me and numerous otherstudents find my place at CWRU.

- Acadia Fairchild NRHH VP of Marketing & Outreach
