Dynamic Report IDs and Distribution IDsStatic Report ID vs Dynamic Report ID

Significant

BENEFIT

• Identifying new report IDs is a manual inefficient, costly process as every job definition in CA Deliver must be updated with the new criteria . Created a new branch? First identify all reports that may have the new branch and the job the report came from. Modify the CA Deliver definitions for the report and add a new report for the branch to every job with the associated DD.

Dynamically add report IDs based on data within the report as it is being delivered to View. Created a new branch? Define Distribution IDs to Deliver.

• Cost Savings • Create rule to identify location of report ID – One time only

• Operational efficiency• System determines what report IDs get created at report delivery time

Composite KeysCombine indexed fields into one search field

Significant

BENEFIT

Composite keys

• A user must have knowledge of the breakdown of each field necessary to search for data. Example: If an index is made up of several fields you must know the breakdown of those fields to search for data

• Build a composite key made of data from several locations on a page. Example: Sortcode is a composite of Company, Branch, and Division• Search for data based on composite key vs separate fields.

• Improved User Experience • No need to specify each field separately to search for data

Operational Data User Experience Improvements Enhanced search, view, print and email capability for job logs

Significant

BENEFIT

Job search result set

• Search and list by Job name, start or end date and time, Return code, userid • Select a job and see all DDs for the Job• Print at Job or DD level.• Email at Job or DD Level

• Time consuming to find and manage job logs within CA View• Can not search for Jobs by Job Names. Must use Report ID or Job ID. • Must print each report separately• Each DD within a job shown as separate Report. • No way to group all DD’s for a specific job together• JESMSGLG, JESJCL, JESYSMSG not available

• Improved User Experience • Easy to find the jobs you want to View• More search capabilities • Print and email without having to understand the complexities of CA Spool
