Marietta Willman began her involvement withNAFCS in 1976. She dedicated her time to teachingart courses and being an aide to teachers. She andher late husband, John Willman, ensured studentsand fellow faculty were taken care of, whether itwas clothing for students in need or a bowl of soupwhen a staff member was sick. Marietta treasuresthe conversations she had with students and isgrateful for the family-like faculty that helpedduring her cancer journey.

Jessy Spainhour (NAHS '99) started working atNAHS in 2005 in Special Education, and is now aGuidance Counselor. She was the starting centerthat won the Bulldogs the 1999 Girls StateBasketball Championship. She is a graduate ofPurdue University and Indiana UniversitySoutheast. Jessy and her family live outside of of thedistrict but chose to send their children to NAFCS tocontinue the family legacy.

Janey Willman (NAHS '67) is a retired SpeechTherapist and Special Education Facilitator. Janeyreceived her degree in Speech and Hearing Therapyfrom Purdue University and Master’s from IndianaUniversity. Janey continues to show her excitementfor NAFCS by attending her grandchildren’s schoolactivities and showing her support for thereferendum and the School Safety Plan.

Meet the

Willman/Dablow Family!

The Willman/Dablow family is honored to be thefirst chairs of the LEGACY NAFC Campaign.There has been a Willman buzzing around thehalls of NAFCS every year since 1946! Passionand excitement for NAFCS shines and there is noshortage of Highlander and Bulldog pride in theWillman/Dablow family.

Alys Willman (FC '92) is a graduate of DePauwUniversity and has her PhD in Economics/UrbanPolicy. After college, she spent time traveling theworld and fighting social injustices. She and herfamily now reside in Georgia on their farm. AlysMarie is grateful for the educators who ensuredshe aspired to higher educational goals.

John Dablow (NAHS '94) is the Athletic Director atSilver Creek High School. He is a graduate ofHanover College and Purdue University. Johnenjoys spending time with his wife and threechildren. He strongly believes the education atNAFCS helped him prepare for his professionalcareer in education. Joe Dablow (NAHS '96) and his wife, JenniferMcCullough Dablow, are high school sweethearts.Joe is known for starting the famous, "D-O-G-SDogs, Dogs, Dogs!" cheer in 1996. Jennifer served asVice President of the Grant Line PTO and heldvarious fundraising roles. Joe is currently theExecutive Director for Student Success at U of L.They continue to be active in volunteering fortheir three children's schools.

Lucas Willman (FC '17)  is a student at LoyolaUniversity Chicago, studying Political Science andNonprofit Business. His greatest accomplishment sofar was the work he did with the 2016 Floyd CentralDance Marathon, which supports the Riley Hospitalfor Children.

Trace Willman (FC '20)  is the latest Willman tograduate from NAFCS. In the fall he will beattending Indiana University and believes hiseducation through NAFCS has prepared him for hisnew chapter. Trace has fond memories as a footballplayer, including winning sectionals.

Rob Willman (FC '88) is the Principal at FloydCentral High School. Prior to taking the role, hewas a teacher at St. X High School, and FCHSwhere he was also the Wrestling Coach. His wife,Megan, has also served NAFCS as support staff andPTO President at Floyds Knobs Elementary. Robsays leading Floyd Central has been a great honorand is thankful for the partnerships he has withNAHS.

A LEGACY RememberedRobert L. Willman taught at NAHS from 1946 to 1979 where heserved as a teacher, Dean of Boys, Assistant Principal, andretired as Director of Student Support Services. He also servedas the very first Director of WNAS 88.1FM, the first high schoolradio station in the world. His wife, Mary "Dixie" Willman, was aconsistent member of the Faculty Wives organization.

John Robert Willman spent the entirety of his career as ateacher and Athletic Director at Hazelwood Middle School from1967 to 2001. He also served as a School Board Member from2002-2006.
