Atikokan Police Services Board

Donna Kroocmo Nominated as a member

Donna Kroocmo, of Atikokan, has been Executive Director of the Atikokan Crisis Centre since February 2001. Previously, she was a Child Protection Worker with Family and Children's Services from 1996-2001. Ms. Kroocmo is very active in her community as an advisory committee member of Atikokan Community Counselling, advisory committee member of Family and Children's Services, board member of Atikokan General Hospital and board member of Rainy River District Community Legal Clinic.

Laurentian Hills Police Services Board

George Hyde Nominated as a member

George Hyde, of Chalk River, served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 39 years. He retired in 2003 as a Master Warrant Officer. He has been a member of the Laurentian Hills Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. Mr. Hyde was President of the Legion Branch 562, Chalk River from 1992-1994.

Joanne Haley Sandra Lalonde Nominated as members

Joanne Haley, ofMonkland, is currently a Senior Planner with Trow Consulting Engineers Inc. Among her many community activities, she is a Parent Representative on the S.D. & G. Cornwall Best Start Network Committee, Chair of the Maxville Leaming Readiness Centre and a Community Emergency Management Coordinator on the Township of South Glengarry Emergency Management Committee. Ms. Haley has also served as a board member on the Cornwall General Hospital Board of Directors and a member on the Cornwall Township Planning Advisory Committee.

Sandra Lalonde, of Moose Creek, is a Senior Account Executive with Priority Management, an international training and learning organization. She has been an active member of the Moose Creek Recreation Association and currently serves as treasurer. In the past, Ms. Lalonde has also served as Vice-President of the Stormont County Community Police Association and a member of the Maxville Curling Club.

Durham, Haliburton, Kawartha and Pine Ridge Grant Review Team

Brian Markle Helen Walsh Nominated as members

Brian Markle, of Fenelon Falls, was a secondary school teacher with the Victoria County Board of Education for 25 years. He served for many years as a Bobcaygeon Wolf Club Assistant-Leader and was treasurer for the Victoria Peace Project. In the 1980's, Mr. Markle help lobby for the establishment of the Kawartha Region Conservation Authority.

Helen Walsh, of Port Hope, is currently the Campaign Manager for Northumberland United Way. She has recently been appointed the treasurer of the Port Hope Figure Skating Club and she previously served on the Port Hope Evening Guide Community Editorial Board. Ms. Walsh has also served as a board member with the Parent Child Family Resource Centre.

Charles Beach Marjorie Featherston Barbara Tanner-Billings Nominated as members

Charles Beach, of Brantford, is a retiree who currently sits on the Board of Directors of S.C. Johnson and Son. Ltd. He serves on the Grants Committee of the Brant Community Foundation and as treasurer of the Brant Waterways Foundation. Mr. Beach was also involved with the Brantford Minor Soccer League and the Brantford Aquatic Club Board.

Marjorie Featherston, of Brantford, is a retired teacher. She is very involved in her community, having served for many years with the Women's Institute, 1.0.D.E., Paris Agricultural Society, Haldimand Horticultural Society, Cottonwood Mansion Preservation Foundation, Scouts Canada and the Haldimand County Children's Aid Society.

Barbara Tanner-Billings, of Vittoria, is a Registered Social Service Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She is an active community volunteer and has been involved with many community agencies including Brantford Literacy Council, Participation House Brantford, Big Brothers, Alzheimer's Society of Brant, Brant Haldimand-Norfolk VON and Brant United Way.

Elizabeth Chalmers Nominated as a member

Elizabeth Chalmers, ofMeaford, is a retired teacher, vice-principal and principal. She is a member of the entertainment committee and children's activities committee for the 2006 Renaissance Meaford project, and has served on the Meaford General Hospital Foundation Capital Campaign. She also was a member of the Special Events Committee for the Grey County International Ploughing Match. Ms. Chalmers has also served as secretary for the local Bighead River Growing Project, which is connected to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

Halton-Peel Grant Review Team

Neil Bunn Angela Dicintio Nominated as members

Neil Bunn, of Brampton, is a Regionally Designated Specialist with IBM Canada. He serves as a Community Emergency Response Volunteer for the City of Brampton and is involved in Public Relations for Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Bunn is also involved with the Canadian Red Cross in the Disaster Response area.

Angela Dicintio, of Oakville, is currently a Fundraising and Communications Consultant in the not-for-profit sector. She has served on the Marketing and Communications Committee for the Community Foundation of Oakville and has also been involved in the Word on the Street Book Fair and the Solar Stage Theatre.

Northwestern Grant Review Team

Jane Peterson Nominated as a member

Jane Peterson, of Eagle River, has assisted First Nation Comfilunities and Urban Aboriginal Organizations with the design, development and implementation of various health programs for 17 years. She was a Program Manager with the Healing Trail Diabetes Initiative at the Dryden Native Friendship Centre and a member of the Dryden HIV I AIDS Committee. Ms. Peterson was also involved with the Northwest Health Unit Needle Exchange Program.

Simcoe-York Grant Review Team

Richard Oatway Nominated as a member

Richard Oatway, of Orillia, is the president of an automotive company. He is currently the Building Committee Chair of the Orillia Museum of Art & History. In the past, Mr. Oatway has served as president of the Simcoe County Victorian Order of Nurses and as the treasurer and president of the Orillia YMCA.

Waterloo, Wellington, Dufferin Grant Review Team

Martin Bosch Nominated as a member

Dr. Martin Bosch, of Guelph, was CEO and owner of The Guelph Company Inc. from 1983-2005. He was a member of Kiwanis, Guelph for a number of years and a member of the Senate of the University of Guelph. Dr. Bosch is a member of the American Oil Chemical Society.

Dr. Jack Ellis, of Port Stanley, is the Clinical Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Program at Regional Mental Health Care St. Thomas and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Western Ontario. Dr. Ellis is a former Director of Post Traumatic Stress Program, National Defense Medical Centre and is a member of several professional organizations including the Canadian and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, the Defense Medical Association of Canada and the Ontario and Canadian Psychiatric Associations.

Constance Holmes, of London, served as a member and Vice-Chair of the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal for Southwest London and Southern Hamilton from 1998 to 2005. She worked for the Ministry of the Attorney General in Courts Administration from 1969 to 1998, in various capacities including Divisional Court Registrar, Court Clerk, Hearings Officer, Court Services Manager and Special Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Attorney General. Ms. Holmes has been active in community service organizations including Mission Services London, founding member of Teen Girls' Home, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and WIL Employment Connections.

Judith Pousette, of Blind River, is a part-time manager at Community Living Algoma, an organization providing support and services to people with intellectual disabilities. Prior to this, she was Executive Director of Women's Crisis Centre and a Coordinator for Algoma Child and Youth Services where she managed a team of child and family counsellors. Ms. Pousette is a member of the Association of Consultants, Clinicians, Psychotherapists and Psychometrists and the Ontario College of Social Workers. She currently serves on the board of the Algoma Family Services and the Blind River Museum.

Council of the College of Nurses of Ontario

David Bockman Nominated as a member

David Bockman, ofThessalon, is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers with over 30 years as a career banker serving with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Royal Trust and the Royal Bank of Canada in various locations including North East, Central and South Western Ontario. He served as a Councillor for the Town ofThessalon and since 1993 has been Director on the Plummer Memorial Hospital and Sault Area Hospital Boards. Other past community service includes the Chamber of Commerce in Cochrane and Sarnia, Progress Club in Barrie and various committees for the Anglican Church in Cochrane and Samia.

Cheryl Rampersad Nominated as a member

Cheryl Rampersad, of Brampton, has been President of Peel Law Chambers, a full service law firm since 2004. Earlier in her career, she was Assistant Producer for The Players Film Company and Producer for Otherworld Films, a television . commercial production house. Her current community activities include World Vision child sponsor, producing numerous public service announcements through Omni TV affiliated R.R. Productions and serving on the Advisory Committee of Birthright Canada.

Health Professions Appeal and Review Board

Brenda Petryna Nominated as a member

Brenda Petryna, of Sudbury, has been a law clerk/secretary for the law firm of Lacroix Forest LLP since 1977 where she provides assistance to a civil litigator, coordinates legal procedures and prepares documents for submission to court. Her past community service includes such organizations as YWCA, Sudbury Person's Day Breakfast, Northern Ontario Medical School and Sudbury Saltos Gymnastics Club.

Health Services Appeal and Review Board

David Green Nominated as a member

David Green, of Brampton, has been serving as a Trustee for the Peel District School Board since 2003 and a Union Representative for CAW since 2002. Prior to this, he worked as a Provincial Parking Enforcement Officer for the Toronto Police Service. Earlier in his career, Mr. Green supervised security officers for Metro :Protective Service and conducted investigations and surveillance as a Special Investigator for Metro SIS. Mr. Green has served his community by mentoring and counselling youth on various issues, assisting families who have legal problems and advising them on the process of receiving assistance through Social Services and other services available from the government. He is trained in crisis intervention, family counselling, stress management and holds a Diploma in Law Enforcement.

Jean-Paul Pilon Nominated as a member

Jean-Paul Pilon, of Waterloo, is a sole practitioner in law who contracts with Waterloo Region Community Legal Services to be duty counsel at the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal's Kitchener hearing location. He has run the Law Office of Jean-Paul Pilon since 1997. Mr. Pilon' s past community involvement includes Vice-President and Director of Volunteer Action Centre, member of the Public Art Committee and Caseworker for the Legal Clinic for People with HIV and AIDS.
