NORFOLKS OWN COOKBOOK

Very many thanks to Pat Miles for being a wonderful agent for the cookbook:

Pat has sold 24 books and dealt admirably with the postage of all the online sales.

We have sold 2700 copies so far – raising a fantastic £54,000 for Marie Curie.

Stocks are low – shop early for Christmas - “when it’s scone it’s scone!”

Melinda Raker

together with Marie Curie Patron for Norfolk, Melinda Raker,

features recipes from 80 Norfolk contributors including producers and

retailers, celebrities and chefs, such as Stella Rimington, Galton Blackiston, Chris

Coubrough, the Lord Bishop of Norwich, Anthony Gormley – AND Croxton’s own very

special Alice Syzling. The book sells for £20 – ALL of which goes to Marie Cu-

rie: thus each book will pay for one hour of care and support for someone who is

terminally ill and who wishes to remain in their own home.

QUESTIONNAIRES Croxton, Brettenham & Kilverstone Joint Neighbourhood Plan

Vodafone - Mobile Phone Coverage Late last year, the Parish Council applied for and was awarded a mobile phone booster system provided by

Vodafone to improve coverage in the village. Vodafone has installed two boosters one in Harefield Road and one on the village hall. These are now working but coverage in the middle of the village is not as good as

anticipated so a third installation is planned there. This system comes at no additional cost to the user but works only with Vodafone customers who should see

improved coverage in most of the village.

OIL SYNDICATE

Next orders will be placed on or about 1st January 2016

Please note: Would you kindly order your oil by e-mail or phone rather than mentioning it to us—the memory is not what it used to be ! If you do not receive an acknowledgement to your email order

please contact Fay Stephen on 01842 754510

Also the £2 fee for membership of the syndicate in 2016 will be due before 1st January.

CROXTON GLASS RECYCLING FACILITIES

In October last year Breckland Council announced that glass/bottles could be placed in the home recycling bins.

However this would have the effect of diverting glass/bottles away from our recycling facility located at Croxton village hall. The recycling facility contributes anything up to 20% of Parish Council annual revenue, which in turn helped the Parish Council to avoid making any increase in precept cost to

residents for the last 5 years and more.

We therefore urge you to please continue to use our Croxton recycling facility for your glass/bottles, paper, and textiles as before. It may involve a little more effort but will reward you by allowing Parish

costs to you to be kept down !!

HILL HOUSE LANE—CAT PROBLEM (A message from concerned residents)

The cats of the Hill House Lane area have certainly become a nuisance with their programme of decimation of the bird population

and the mess they make thereby. The cats look healthy and are certainly fleet of foot. Worst among them are a white one with ginger

spots and another which is ashen grey and longer-haired. It would be helpful if the owners ensured their cats wore collars with

bells plus address or phone number. From personal experience in London cats completely decimated the

small bird population, and we do not want the same sadness happening in rural Croxton or the neighbouring Ladies Estate.

THANK YOU

Betty & Malcolm Wright
