13C Labelled Glycans Dextra are pleased to offer new a range of fully synthetic and charaterised N-glycans isotopically labelled with 13C, for use as quantitative standards in applications such as Matrix-assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF), Electrospray Ionization (ESI) and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS). These standards are produced chemo-enzymatically with 13C labelling on the GlcNAc residues.
Changes in protein glycosylation are a hallmark of many cancers, infectious and autoimmune diseases and the growing number of congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) suggests an increasingly important role for glycans as biomarkers.
Utilisation of this panel of isotopically labelled glycan standards greatly simplifies the direct analysis of intact glycans by MALDI-TOF MS, thus providing a distinct advantage over alternative approaches in terms of ease of use, speed, data content and accuracy.

The Neutral kit contains a library of biantennary, heavy isotope-labelled N-glycan standards, designed for the typical, CHO cell-produced, Fc glycosylation profile of monoclonal antibodies.
The Complete kit contains an additional three standards for the three most frequently found α2,3-sialylated glycans. Although they naturally occur in low amounts at the Fc part of an antibody, they can strongly influence effector function.
The Human Serum IgG kit contains pauci-mannose, truncated, biantennary and bisected isotope-labelled standards including α2,3-sialylation. The mixture of standards has been designed for the typical Fc and Fab glycosylation profile of IgG 1 type antibodies from human serum.
