Assi Dimitrolopoulou is a Scenographer, Production Designer, Architect, and Lecturer in Scenography (Specialized Teaching and Research Staff) at the University of the Peloponnese in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Theatre Studies.

She has been awarded for her work in theatre, architecture and cinema in Greece and was nominated for award in production design in 5th Maverick Movie Awards (New York), Festival art deco de Cinema Sao Paolo (Sao Paolo, Brazil), TV Short Film Festival (Malta).

Assi studied Architecture in Athens, Diploma in Architecture at NTUA, National Technical University (1991) Postgraduate studies: Scenography: DEA Arts du spectacle, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle- Université PARIS III (1994-95)Visual arts: DEA Arts Plastiques et sciences de l'art, Université PARIS I, Panthéon Sorbonne (1996-97)Theory and Aesthetics of Architecture: CEAA Théories et Esthétique de l'architecture, Ecole d'architecture Paris -Villemin (1996)

She works as a scenographer, production designer and architect. Her work as a scenographer and production designer, since 1993, includes over 80 collaborations with Athens and Epidavros Festival, Greek National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Megaron The Athens Concert Hall, Festival des Eurotopiques, Tourcoing, France, Sarajevo Winter Festival, Amore Theatre and other theatres in Athens, in Municipal Theatres and films.She has also worked in the Paris Opera (Opéra national de Paris) and Brussels (La Monnaie) and in other major theatres in Paris (Théâtre National de Chaillot and La Colline - Théâtre National) and in Orleans (Centre dramatique National Orléans).

In particular, as stage designer and costume designer she has collaborated with Bruce Myers, Roula Pateraki, Alexandros Avranas, Lee Bruer, Michael Marmarinos, Peris Michailidis, Marianna Calbari, Constantin Arvanitakis, Theodoros Espiritou, Maria Louisa Papadopoulou, Evriklia Sofroniadou, Sissy Papathanasiou, Mirka Gemetzaki, Stelios Pavlidis, Stavros Tsakiris, Zorzina Tzoumaka, and others.

Assi was production & costume designer on many films directed by Alexandros Avranas, Dimitri Athanitis, Stathis Athanasiou and Mario Garefo.

Her career began as assistant designer to Jérôme Savary, John MacFarlane, Gilles Aillaud and Silvia Hasenclever in Paris.

In addition to her career in theatre, she has worked as an architect interior designer for private projects including hotels, restaurants, houses and exhibitions.
