Moniters&Displays• It would Be Impossible to use a

computer without a monitor or display giving you visual feedback of what you doing.

• The monitor shows you what is going on inside the computer.

• There are several monitors you could use.

Drives&Media• Computers typically play both DVDs and CDs

in the same drive.• DVD can hold approximately 5GB of

information.• The newest drive is the USB.• Most computers also have other drives that

also allow you to permanently store data.

Computer Connections• -Power Adapter In-Is where the power cord connects to

the computer.• DVI video output-The digital video connection that

sends the signal to your monitor .It replaced the older analog VGA connection.

• Parallel printer port-Commonly referred to as the “printer port” the parallel will transfer data faster than the serial port.

• Ethernet/Network jack-This is what the high speed modems (DSL & cable) Use when the connect to your computer.

• Line in port-This is where you plug your computer’s microphone in to record your voice.

• Speak out port-Your computers speakers and/or headphones plug into this port.
