UNBS has been given the mandate to certify milk andmilk products under the Dairy Industry Act and theUNBS Act
UNBS is carrying out two certification Schemes:Product Certification;Management Systems Certification

UNBS certification is based on a Uganda Standardas per the UNBS Certification Regulations of 1995
Under this Scheme, UNBS, as a 3rd Party, grants apermit to the manufacturer to use the UgandaStandard Certification Mark on the Product(s) asan assurance to the customer that the productconforms to Uganda standards.
To date over 700 permits have been issued byUNBS.
