When the first time of moon full people could see seventeen gods dancing in the moonlight . One year, sky was covered by

clouds. Everyone lighted torches to make the sky bright to find gods. It became a custom, and in some area

people hold lanterns or light campfire.

Lantern festival is usually in lunar January 15th.People often go out for releasing lanterns with

family or friends.Pingsi is the most famous place of releasing

lanterns in Taiwan.
